Here is a video on how to use the VED to help get the penis going again after prostate cancer treatment. The VED is not the cure-all but it can help.

If you have prostate cancer treatment in your future or are having it, I recommend Dr. John P. Mulhall's book "Saving Your Sex Life: A Guide for Men with Prostate Cancer".

Thanks for the link. I'm seeing pumping regimens that are all over the map, e.g. 1 min, relax, repeat. Or 5 min cycles. Or 10 min cycles.

What is the consensus?
68yo. Diabetes & hypertension drugs but none that are infamous for ED causation. Increasing ED compounded by frequent anorgasmia. Viagra for 2 years. Cabergoline experimentation inconclusive. New to pumping (Encore). Supportive (to a limit) wife.

Pretty sure it depends on why you are using it in the first place.
The video references recovery from PC. Which is one use.
Others have used it for therapy before being implanted. Although I'm sure implant users can speak more about that.

I purchased my VED in hope to help with ED. Although it would produce an erection, I never was able to sustain an erection suitable for PIV sex without use of Viagra.

It's also been marketed as penis enlargement. The few times I've used, It did give me larger size. However I've heard of stories where over-use or mis-use can cause damage.
Age: 68. Struggled with ED/PE for years.
Used Viagra for 10+ years with mixed success.
In May 2022 started using Trimix with very good results.
Feb 2023 developed PD

I had radical robotic prostatectomy in 2020. I am 100% erection dysfunctional. I use a pump everyday to maintain healthy penis tissue. I use the Vacurect pump.

Working with my Physical Therapist and an ED physician, my pump regiment consists of one pump for 5 minutes using the largest constriction ring. Then I use the ring sized for me and pump maintaining vacuum for 10 minutes. Both my Physical Therapist and ED doctor encourage me to pump as often as I'd like to, but a minimum of once per day is their recommendation.

This just my experience and I agree with you about pumping frequency and duration varying widely.

Why use a constriction ring? I jusst pumped and kept vacuum for a short time, released vaccum (to allow blood to be flushed through my penis) and pumped up again. Repeating for my alloted time. Exchanging the blood through my tissues keeps oxygenation levels higher than if I used a constriction ring.

Granted, having the vacuum cylinder on my loins was inconvenient if I wanted to do anything around the house, but before rising from bed in the morning and after going to bed at night was not inconvenient.

It’s much safer and more comfortable to use a “sex shop” type cylinder with a wide base rim and equipped with a vacuum gauge. Pump up to 5 hg and hold for two minutes and then reduce vacuum to 2 hg and hold for a minute and repeat the cycle for 20 minutes or so. It’s called pulse pumping and replicates the process your dick used to go through naturally at night during REM sleep.
