For those of you who eat right, exercise daily, are in excellent shape and whom whom have taken medication, pills, injections what have you. If you have been abstinent for a while after doing so has it helped or worsened you condition? What affects on your body did you experience?

I'm not sure what you mean but abstinence is definitely a good thing. It worked for me!

I suffered from psychogenic ED for many years and one of my techniques was abstinence. After a negative sexual experience, I would take a break and avoid sex for a long period of time (a week, two weeks, a month, whatever). This allowed me to relax and clear my mind.

Doctors I have seen over the years were all pretty consistent that you “use it or lose it”. Your penis is like every other part of your body and needs to be exercised regularly. Abstinence, in my opinion, is good for kids who aren’t old enough to understand the consequences of their actions or people with sex addictions who need to break themselves of bad habits. If you choose to abstain from sex with partners, masturbation is good to keep exercising your body.

As an old guy (76), I've been virtually abstinent for over 12 years. I can detect no difference at all in my penis - size remains the same, and the implant still works on the rare occasions I inflate it (maybe three or four times a year). Physical exams reveal no issues of any kind. Dr Kramer suggested I inflate "now and then just to keep the tissue tretched and healthy." My experience of extremely rare erections or ejaculation makes me question the notion that either one or both of these are essential.

Like Greg1956 said, my uro told me "use it or lose it". This is especially in the case of having had treatment for prostate cancer and having chemical castration and radiation. In order to get back the ability to have erections I had to work at it (along with my wife). I don't have as much sex or JO as before, probably because I am getting older, but if I don't try to get erections regularly, then it takes a while to get everything working again. Practice sure helps.

I'm of the use it or lose it camp. Besides having regular orgasms has health benefits too. For 10 horrible years, sex was 95% misses, but while I dicked around getting my implant, I did lots of porn and masturbation with the aid of pills and injections. I kept my size up until my implant where I lost an inch in length and girth. I don't have to cycle and have had no pain when fully inflated right from the beginning. I love my implant. I work from home so it can be fully erect for hours on end. I suggest using what you have in any way that you can.

Since Viagra and injections failed (reduced effectiveness)I have been relying on a VED and tight constriction bands to generate and maintain my erections. Unfortunately, the vacuum and constriction band reduces the sensitivity of my erection. Accordingly, although I have penetration several times a week, I can go for up to two months without ejaculating, When I do ejaculate, it comes out in copious quantities.
