Hi from Sydney Australia

Postby rigpig » Sat Oct 15, 2011 8:14 pm

Hi Lads.
Had a look around franktalk - what a great site. I had my prostate removed 3 weeks ago. PSA 6.5 - Gleason 3+4 - Staging T1c. Robotic assisted surgery with 2 nerve bundles saved. I was lucky, as the cancer was completely encapsulated in the prostate. But will still be nervous at my future PSA tests.
Leakage really good - I was dry 1 week after the Catheter was taken out.
Not much happening on the Erection front yet but I know it is early. I see my Surgeon in 5 days for a progress check up.
I was wondering whether I should be on Ciallis or Viagra already or using a pump to get things moving. My Doc never said anything previous but from what I have been reading guys have been using pills or pumps as soon as they could after surgery.
Can anyone let me know their experience at this stage -post op.
Look forward to meeting yas.
Thanks
Cheers Rigpig

rigpig: Welcome from America. We have a few other guys from down under on FT..You should try to find Chalrie. Great guy and always interesting to chat with. Join us some time in the chat room. Definately ask your doc about penile rehab at your next meeting. Good luck with your healing process.

I am also going to recomend that you check out healingwell.com the prostate cancer section. Lots of post there about prostate cancer. It is a specific board.

Franktalk is all about the ED and that is real important to all of us.

rigpig,
Welcome to FT. Take a look around and use the 'search' button a lot. You'll find a lot of stuff already posted that may answer some of your questions. The chat room is another place where you will meet the guys themselves. Stop by and introduce yourself.

Hi RigPig,

Congratulations on how things are going so far in terms of continence, preserving the nerve bundles, etc.

When you see your doctor in a couple of days I would push him to go through all of the advantages and any disadvantages of starting on penile rehabilitation by means of Cialis (my preference) or Viagra (which I tried previously). And as others have said, you can definitely learn a lot by browsing hear.

Best of luck with your continued recovery.

Brian

Rig;

Welcome. This is a good place and you can learn lots here. A BIG YES to getting a rehab program started and now. Suggest you look under pumps and find the "Prelude". It is a great way to begin bringing blood back into your shaft. It is not for sex but is a beginning to remind everybody down there of the future fun to be had. I have Prelude and still use it on occasion. It is nice and can be a wonderful way to stimulate your self after you are hard with the cylinder. The instructions that come with the pump are very good. Very glad to here you are dry so soon after getting the cath. out!! That is somewhat rare and is big plus for you.

As soon as your sex drive returns- go for it. It is a good thing for between the legs as well as between the ears. . . . The more you use him the better chance for a fuller recovery. You won't get hard but it is an amazing feeling and you can reach a wonderful climax. Yeah, I know without a hard- yep- wouldn't have believed it myself until my PCa robotic surgery. And does it ever work!! Penile Rehab can be fun!

If I can help please let me know. You will establish a new normal for you sexually and it takes time. This is a journey.

Regards,

Dick
