IMPLANT ----Hi I'm Bill, 73, with ED. Been a problem for over 35 years. Have tried Testosterone supplements, Viagra, TRIMIX, and CaverJet Injections. Some combinations have partially worked over the years, but nothing seems to work anymore. Have recently had a Consultation with Dr Bryan Kansas about a possibility of getting an Penile Implant. Now I'm scheduled for a Implant surgery on 26 Mar 24.
Requesting any pre and post surgery suggestions and any other helpful information. Maybe a Show & Tell?

Howdy Bill. You can’t be too far. I live 84 mi NNW of Dr. Kansas’ clinic on Jollyville Rd. Always a good excuse to pick up a couple of dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts.

Kansas did my surgery 4+ yrs ago. DeadlineDave is another poster who is only about 8 weeks in, he’s making progress but his recovery hasn’t been quite as quick as mine. There are a few other Kansas guys who post from time to time.

This is the place to be brutally honest. In dealing with an implant you can second guess yourself to death. Bottom line is make the best decision you can and move on.

The quick facts: I talked to two surgeons seriously-Kansas and a doc at Scott&White in Temple. I chose Kansas due to scheduling.

It took a year but I basically got all my length back (within 1/16th inch). I lost a little girth and I think it’s the nature of the AMS LGX instead of Titan when you’re on the girthy side. I’m okay with it.

Kansas was probably the best choice for me because I wanted, needed, and got great service after the surgery. The procedure itself was a picnic. I bruised bad as hell but never had anything I’d call pain. Yeah, I was really sore. No infection. Bruised, swollen, and a traumatized shrunken pecker that slowly crept its way back to normal once I started cycling.

The day after surgery, I drive 90 miles to Stephenville & 90 miles back (that ought to tell you where I am) to pick up a kid at school. I got some Ag kids from the high school to feed livestock for a few weeks as I didn’t need to be tossing 50# sacks of feed right away.

But no, I didn’t stop living or have to lie around. Pretty much normal routine once I got home and the anesthesia was out of my system.

I went into the surgery in good physical shape with no other health impairing conditions. I had had a hernia done 2 weeks prior to implant.

If you’re having any further pro-op consultations you can tell them everything I said was flattering, except I would have thought to bruise me like they did—-they must’ve knocked me out, taken me to the parking lot, and taken turns running over me with a Suburban. I’ve also had less painful catheterizations.

If this LGX quit, the big ? Is would I let Dr Kansas do my revision? The answer is most likely Absolutely, although I’m pretty much at the limit of what the LGX can do. Dr. Kansas is an AMS guy. I’m sure he’d put a CX in me and all would be well. I might want to talk Titan, Dr. Clavell in Houston…..but I’m not sure I could find a better experience than I got with Dr Kansas. Like I said, you can go crazy second-guessing yourself.

Feel free to pvt message me or simply post any questions. Welcome to the site.
