New to board.

Postby tigerboy19 » Mon Jun 22, 2020 7:40 pm

I originally posted under the guidelines section and saw that it was buried at the end of 12 pages. Saw that others posted with new subject, so here is my original post.

New to the board, although I lurked a time or two in the past. I pulled the trigger and got the IPP on 6-12-20. I am 65 and been fighting the issue for about 20 years. Viagra was effective for a while but then it's benefit waned along with giving me migraine headaches after use about 50% of the time. I then did injections for about 10 years with increasing resistance over time with my last effective (50-75% of the time) dose being an entire syringe of super trimix. Because of the high dose and leakage issue (my problem from the beginning) it became the same as Viagra with the headaches occurring about 50% of the time. Also, the erection itself was only effective about 75% of the time. I could see where this was going, so began working toward IPP surgery. Turned 65 last August and got on medicare (off of work insurance) in May so finally had the surgery. I have the Coloplast Titan. Not the One Touch, but the older style pump. 20 CM cylinders with 1 CM RTEs and the 125 CL reservoir filled to 90. I'm on day 8 and I feel that I am doing very well. I was black and blue very swollen initially, but already look pretty normal with scrotum back to normal size and very easily feeling the landmarks on the pump without pain. Well, that's my story. I'll be around.
I am 68 and have been married for 50 years. I had ED for about 20 years. Treated with Viagra (10 years) and injections (10 years), but finally built resistance in each case. Had IPP surgery on 6-12-20. Coloplast Titan 20 CM with 1 CM RTE.

Thank you bldoink. It is good to be here and I hope that I can help somebody out by offering my viewpoint of my experiences of the last many years dealing with ED and my new adventure with the implant.

As others have said, welcome to the forum and hope we can answer questions and walk with you on this journey. I had the AMS LGX implant done this past January and am happy beyond words. I may only have an average erect penis (7 inches) but better than a limp one. We are a wide spectrum of men from all over so your choices are as varied as your questions. Welcome. Continue healing.

As an addendum, I had my implant at Mayo in Jacksonville with Broderick, 10 January 2020. Great system. Great staff, especially

Welcome. You sound like one of the lucky guys that heal pretty fast. Took me close to 5 months before I felt half way normal. But I don't tolerate a lot of medicines, anti-biotics make me sicker.
Here's to a quick recovery and back to what you're supposed to do with that thing between your legs. :D

Hello Tiger,
just saw your post. Implanted almost the same time, I had mine 6/15/20. Just curious to see how you are coming along, I have been doing good as well with very minimal pain. Waiting to start cycling next week.
All the best.

I guess I am not the only one to post my initial message to the wrong place....

Thanks for having this forum....

I just received my confirmation, though I have been reading a lot in the last few days.....lots of good information.

I am 72 years old and have been having various problems for a few years. After reading about 'rejuvapulse', talked with my Dr. who referred me to another doctor in the group (very large all over the Chicago area). I am now working with an ED specialist.

I am having hydroceles on my testicles removed over the next few months (one at a time) and then a Titan (don't know which one) implanted. Of course I am looking forward to it...but keep getting nervous....

Thanks again for being here....means a lot to me and I am sure all the others.....

Sorry that I have not visited in so long. Yes, I was lucky as far as healing goes. In fact, I saw the Doc. at exactly 6 weeks and I realized how lucky I was. I should have been in at about 4 weeks, but they were swamped with getting elective surgeries back going after the layoff in April and May. Anyway, the nurse says "well the doctor will be in soon and he'll get it 'activated' for you". I said What? I explained that I had been cycling the thing since day 6. Anyway, I told the doc. and he was amazed. He didn't fuss at me because I had done things on my own, but I could feel the pump really well after a few days and decided to see if I could deflate on day 6. I could, and the rest is history. I was able to have intercourse with no problems on day 16. At that point, because I had used injections that required a 6 week wait for surgery, plus the time since surgery, the only problem was that my 65 year old wife had suffered from the long layoff. It took her a few times to get over the layoff and get back to normal as far as organism, etc. So, things are good. Knock on wood. I would just say that the combination of the pubic approach and me being a fast healer contributed to an experience that is not typical. However, there is no doubt that everybody gets there in their time.

I'll just say one other thing at this time about the implant. At first the head of my penis wanted to turn outward when it was mostly deflated. I found that it was better to leave it semi-inflated so that it was longer and could be pushed straight down and held in place by my drawers in a more natural position. Since then I guess the cylinders have softened up and it feels OK and lays flat in any level of deflation.

Hi, tigerboy, I have been under the impression that Medicare doesn't provide this kind of coverage. So, I can see Medicare covered it, but did you have to jump through lots of hoops and loops to get it done? Anyone else?
