New guy Implanted 10/30/2019 My Story

Postby Stoney » Thu Dec 19, 2019 12:27 am

My name is Ed Im currently 59 I would consider my health as good. I have been battling ED since my mid 40s. I have always had a very active sex life having been 8+ inches. Over the course of 5 years using medications the side effects started getting more extreme and the potency wasn't strong enough. I had started with 50mg by the time I stopped using it I was at 150mg and the side effects were so extreme it made enjoying sex impossible. For a time I shied away from sex, I thought I didn't have many options.

I eventual talked to my health care provider again and they suggested a class that discusses options. At the class I opted fot the injections thinking it was the next logical step. In the fist eight months of using trimix I got peyronie's disease (no one told me the injections can cause scarring) Im not sure when it happend or if it was the peyronie's disease or injections but I was getting smaller in length and circumference, It took some time but the peyronie's disease was cured but the result I was now 5.5 inches, as you can imagine I was very upset with the loss. I talked to my urologist and he told me "Well you used to be superman now your just a man" After telling him what I thought of him I saw a new urologist who suggested a different trimix solution and I tried it for a year, gradually just like the oral medication it wasn't working. The whole time the urologists were only concerned with your ability to penetrate not your confidence or your pride.

Although my girl friend was very understanding my relationship was suffering. I decided to do the implant before my relationship got worse and I was afraid I may loose more length. I did some research (mayo clinic videos and manufactures web sites) I talked to my new urologist and decided to move forward with the implant. My surgery was on October 30th. According to my urologist the surgery went as expected, I returned the next day to have the catheter removed and back again December 6th I was released to use the implant. My urologist noted the reservoir had moved but said theirs a danger of infection if they try to place it again. And I received no further information from the urologist.

The pump was very hard to use and takes both hands to pump. My erection feels very firm and I'm at 5.5 inches but I am not completely erect, I would say I'm at 35 degrees 45 degrees being fully erect. The good news is my girlfriend is very happy. I wanted to tell my story so I could get your feedback? According to the manufacturer the AMS 700 ms will add additional girth and 1/2 inch in length over time. I also found this information in mao clinic document and videos, funny my urologist didn't mention anything about this.

So my recommendation to anyone would be don't bother with injections and have plenty of questions for your urologist don't assume your on the same page.
Now my question to the group, should I give this time and see if the erection improves or see another urologist?

Way to early for that, it takes time, months and even a year to reach max length.
Try to cycle to max twice a day and after a few minutes pump some more as the pain slows down pump again. Do this as long as time allows (hopefully an hour).
I think you will end up at 6.25". Jim

Hey man;

I read your post and it seemed a lot like my story. No one told me that injecting your cock could cause scarring. I started to develop it after four years of injecting trimix into my cock. Using trimix was somewhat successful but I had my share of problems. If I had known about implant surgery back then I probaby would have skipped the injection therapy all together. it's not fair or right that our Urologist are not telling us the side effects of using Trimix and injecting our cocks. My dick was straight as a stick before I started using Trimix. I now have scarring on both sides. I have also developed a slight bend to the right which my doctor confirmed was attributed to the injecting of Trimix into my cock. I told him that I had talked to guys that said they had used trimix for ten years and had no scarring. He said he would take issue with that fact. His belief was either they don't know that they have scarring or it may not be as pronounced at this point in time. I think it is very unfair not to inform guys of all the negatives of injection therapy. I know mine is due to the trimix because I don't have anything else to blame it on! I don't have peyronie disease period. Just the scarring from using Trimix. Don't get me wrong I am not trying to scare anyone I just think all user of the injection therapy should know all the facts. it appears to me the prescribers are liable for the damage this stuff causes if the patient is not informed. I talked with my current Urolgist about this and he agreed the patient should be completely informed. I wish you the best!

WEll had to have another surgery on 1/8/20 The reservoir moved and my urologist had to place it in another area. So now Im in recovery again! My urologist originally place the reservoir on the right side of my belly well above my right hip. The reservoir fell all the way down to my groin witch became very painful. Now Im sporting a 5" scar on my abdomen from the move not that I really care about another scar as long and the result is good. The reservoir is now placed under my pelvis near the bladder and is not causing any problems.

A positive note prior to my surgery I had been pumping it up every day for a couple hours just prior to the point of being uncomfortable. I started out after surgery at 5.5" and unimpressive girth. I am happy to report my length is now 5.9" and the girth is increasing even my Girlfriend has noticed and is very happy!

Stoney, congratulations on joining the brotherhood and sorry to hear you had a minor setback with the reservoir. Good to see you're on the mend now from that issue.

You said in your signature that you have 14 cm cylinders and 3 cm RTE. Did they implant the AMS 700 CXR 14 cm? That's the only AMS 700 I can find in the AMS literature that says it comes in a 14 cm so I'm guessing that's the one. I looked on their documentation again and they say:
"AMS 700 CXR prosthesis is designed for a patient with an anatomy that requires shorter and narrower cylinders. It is also useful for penile prosthesis re-implantation procedures."
