Greetings from Greece!

Postby Yannis » Wed Jan 04, 2012 2:43 am

Hello everybody!
I came along this wonderful site through another site for people with ED www.edguider.com
i am 36 years old from Athens,Greece and i've been fighting ED for the last 15 years or more since the beginning of my sexual activity,a little bit late i guess, around the age of 20.
The problem is the performance anxiety i guess which i never managed to deal with completely
Even when i used levitra in the past or Cialis at the moment i can have intercourse about let's say half of the times and when i think that finally i will overcome the problem it happens again!
The good thing is that no matter what we all think, most of the times we men get more frustrated than our partners about this issue. What i mean is that at least in 3 relationships i was the one who ended it,the girls didn't seem to care that much, because somehow i was tired trying,i mean sometimes i could have intercourse but some others i didn't.
i am as a person very anxious about almost anything in my life, for some periods i get antidepressants(efexxor),i also had sessions of cognitive psychotherapy which helped a lot in many aspects of my life, such as anxiety and stress about job etc.,but i am not sure if it helps regarding sex problems.
And of course i have to deal with the vicious circle that it is created because of the problem(the fear of not getting an erection makes me lose my interest in sex and reduces my libido etc).Someone might think that it may be due to antidepressants, but as i said i don't take them for long periods and i have not seen any difference when i stop taking them.
In any case, the important thing is that i keep on trying and never give up,although sometimes i refrain from sex for long periods,it is certain that avoiding sex makes the problem even worse!
The other thing is that i'd really like sometime in the future not to really on viagra, cialis, etc. This site and forum is absolutely very interesting, but i see people here being somehow ED drugs-addicted,i've read posts from some people here for example that they take cialis, oral phentolamine,prelox,anti-anxiety drugs etc at the same time! This is completely rediculous!Even if these drugs are FDA approved or whatever, noone can assure you for sure that there will be no side effects in the long run and be harmful for your health!Well,if some people here think that getting an erection by taking 5 pills at the same time is better for them than their long-term health,i cannot persuade them otherwise,it's their problem!
Anyway,it was very nice finding this site, looking forward to hear your experiences!

Welcome Yannis and Happy New Year.

I think that the best way for me to provide you with some info about ED is to share the story of my battle with ED.
I developed ED Post-Prostatectomy in February 2004 at age 65 and had never experienced any problem prior to that.
Viagra, Cialis, etc. did not work for me.
After much research and having the opportunity to speak with 2 men who underwent the Coloplast Titan Penile Implant Procedure, I had my Titan Implant Procedure December 13, 2007.
The Titan Penile Implant completely corrected my ED and restored both my sex life and the emotional intimacy with my wife of 45 years.
I became a Coloplast Patient Educator in January 2008 in order to share my Pre-Implant and Post-Implant experiences with men still suffering from ED and its devastating side effects.
I just celebrated the Fourth Anniversary of my Titan Implant December 13th and my wife and I could not be happier with it.
The FT Group has a bunch of great guys who are always willing to reach out to other men suffering with ED.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or just want to talk.

Yannis:

Welcome to FT. I can relate to your issue. Anxiety is a boner killer!

Another thing you mentioned is Efexor. Many if not most anti-depressants have sexual side effects. I was on Lexapro and was unable to ejaculate. I was using a vacuum pump and rings at the time, so I had a good erection. Just couldn't pull the trigger. After over an hour, I was exhausted and gave up. I switched medications to Welbutrin and that is much better. Talk to your doc and have him work with you.

My ED started with injuries on a bicycle bar when I was young, so I had leakage problems. I could get hard, but couldn't stay hard. Penetration was a problem. The rings helped in that respect. I progressed through the pills, pumps, shots, and finally got an implant. It sounds to me, you have the ability, but as you state, its the mind that is tricking you. I would suggest a c-ring if you don't already have one. A shoe lace will work in a pinch, especially if you are just masturbating. You need to prove to yourself that your dick works. Get some porn, some lube, and a shoe string (if necessary) and do some exercise. Get that puppy hard and try to maintain that level as long as you can. Once that becomes easier, try edging toward ejaculation, then backing down, then back up, etc. Learn your body and what it takes to make it do your bidding. If you can find a friend to help, that would be great. I had some "f-buddies" when I was a teen, we liked each other, but not romantically, it was just sex. No pressure, I used to spend the whole day in bed with one girl, she just loved sex and could coax me hard time after time.

There are guys on here that are into penis exercising. They know good websites to get you started. Good luck!

hello Bob and Dave, thanks for your time replying to my post!
I wouldn't consider penile implant for the next..let's say 15 years!I am 36 and i can have intercourse about half of the times,so i stick to levitra or cialis for now and try to resolve anxiety issues as well.
I recently discovered i also have low testosterone,i'm under more medical tests right now to see whether there is a reason behind this in order to get testosterone replacement therapy and see if things get better!
Anyway,thanks again,we'll stay in touch!

Yannis,
If you should find your "T" is low I would suggest you have your Uro look
into Testopel pellets. Simple injections of pellets in the butt.
No mess at all. I get them every 6 months. No cremes or daily/weekly injections.
They are very effective with the time release stuff.
My whole makeup changes physical as well as mental.
Best of luck to you!
