Hi everyone,
I just had my Titan Touch insertion on Monday. Ouch! The swelling is gradually going down (it's still significant), and the pain and sensitivity are less, except around the implant area. There's a sharp pain where the pump, reservoir, and implant are, with the pain being worse at the pump and reservoir. The implant itself is tender but causes less pain. This mainly happens when I stand, sit, walk, or bend over. When I sit, I experience little to no pain. Is this typical?
A little about myself: I'm 67 years old and post-bladder cancer. I had my bladder and prostate removed, and after a couple of years of Cialis, I had no erections. So, I chose to get the implant. I managed to regain most of what cancer took from me, except this. I have what's called a neo-bladder, which is a bladder made from part of my intestine, so I don't have a urostomy bag, but I do have trouble voiding and sometimes need to self-catheterize. I'll take all of that to be cancer-free, but not having erections was the last important thing I needed to regain.
I hope this works as advertised. Right now, I'm struggling just with the recovery. My surgeon told me I would "know I had a penis for a while" after the procedure. He got that right.
Thanks for listening and for any advice you can give.
Best,
Mark

Congratulations and welcome to the bionic brotherhood Mark
. I'm sorry to hear that you've had a rough time in the past. Well done in coping with what you've already faced. This will hopefully be relatively easy by comparison and everything good for you implant wise.
The main thing to remember is that you are currently only about a week post surgery. It's a traumatic procedure and healing takes time. While there are typical things that happen during recovery, everyone's journey is unique and can be different.
I wouldn't be too concerned this early about anything you've described. There are things you can do to help reduce discomfort, like applying ice, taking painkillers etc. You may also find that pain shifts and changes as you recover.
Your doc is correct. You're currently at the "WTF have I done?" stage. As much as you can try and relax and lean into it. I found it easier by accepting that there would be pain and that it would take months and patience to get where I wanted to be. My scrotum, pump location etc ached for at least a couple of months. I needed to to relieve the pressure when sitting. I was 30% erect for the first 6 weeks. It was very uncomfortable and inconvenient. Urination was awkward and unpredictable. That said there were often incremental improvements along the way.
There is a lot of support on here. Ask questions as needed. Like many other guys I'm also happy to answer private messages.

Re: New here almost a week into the journey
Welcome to the Brotherhood Mark, and congrats on your implant. I have found FT to be an incredibly helpful resource.
I'm 3 1/2 weeks into my journey, so just a bit ahead of you and I can tell you, it does get better with time. Of course, pain and discomfort varies from one person to another. The method of implantation, penoscrotal (PS) and infrapubic (IP), can make a difference as well, especially with respect to swelling. I had the IP procedure, which generally produces less swelling of the scrotum. My first week was a bit tough, but the most important thing is ice, and more ice. I had swelling above the penis in the pubic area as well as in the scrotum, and I still ice the pubic area to reduce swelling. Movement, position of sitting or even walking "the wrong way" caused considerable discomfort.
My implants are filled to approximately 20% - 25%, so my penis doesn't hang down in a normal flaccid state. This has caused me to struggle a bit with positioning to minimize discomfort, but I've managed to find a sweet spot. But I can tell you that it does get better almost daily at this stage, especially after the first week. At my stage of recovery, I can hardly wait the next 2 1/2 weeks for my appointment to "activate" the implant.
Everyone here is very helpful, so don't hesitate to ask questions as you recover. All the best to you.
Oh, keep the ice machine turned up to high and keep icing!

Re: New here almost a week into the journey
Mark, yes, the first few days/weeks can be tough. Hope you get through the healing part quickly. Many here say to use ice to keep the pain and swelling down. If your doc gave you any pain killers use as needed. As soon as my incision healed and doc allowed me to bathe I found a hot bath gave me a lot of relief. If getting dressed causes soreness use a baby sock with the elastic cut off to cover your penis. I also found Aspercream eased a lot of soreness in the early days of recovery. Caution to use it only if your incision is fully healed and wash it off before sex.

Re: New here almost a week into the journey
Indeed, welcome to the brotherhood.
It WILL get better. Sometimes quickly. Sometimes slowly. And every once in a while it might feel like you have taken a step back. But don’t worry. You’ll be on the other side of this and happy to have a fully functioning penis again.
Wearing a babysock over the glans helps a lot with sensitivity. Icing helps initially and a heating pad was soothing in the weeks after that.
Soon you will be able to be as hard as you want, whenever you want, for as long as you want. It will be like having a superpower. Congrats!
