AMX 700 LGX implant?

Postby BroncoRich » Fri Aug 29, 2025 11:06 am

I have prostate cancer, about 6 years to live (assuming no new treatments). I've been without testosterone for 4 years and it will never be turned on again. I've tried the pills and the trimix shots but am looking hard (no pun intended) at an implant.

If you've had the AMX 800 LGX implant, can you share:
1. Cost? Was it out of pocket or insurance? What was the amount?
2. Where did you have done? (country, city, provider name/center)
3. Any lessons learned? Any regrets?

If sharing some of this in the discussion board is uncomfortable, feel free to private message me.

Hi BroncoRich,

I am assuming that you might be in the Denver area. Why are you looking at the AMX? I have a Coloplast Titan for 3 years now. Also had prostate cancer. If you would like to talk call me at 303-507-4230. I'm willing to show and demonstrate.

Hi BroncoRich,

I have the AMS 700 LGX for two weeks now, so way to early to have real experience with it.
I am from the Netherlands, and here I could get my implant from the insurance company, but it had to be checked on forehand.
Of Course my surgery was in the Netherlands.

When I talked about the implant, they told me I would benefit from it, but it would make me feel uncomfortable for about 2 to 4 weeks, with pain and possible problems in my daily life.
But, to be honest... From the second day after the surgery I am not taking pain medication anymore, and it feels very good to have the implant.
In a few days I will learn how to cycle the pump, and I will be allowed to use the bath again.

I will keep people updated with posts from time to time.

Good luck with your decision.
Brian.
