I'm 61 years old, married for 39 years, and enjoyed what I would describe as an "average" sex life until I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer (Gleason 7) in 2023.
Upon the recommendation of oncologist and urologists I underwent a (Non robotic) Prostatectomy in July 2023. The surgery was successful at fully removing the cancer, and I am grateful for that. However, despite being "nerve sparring" there has been almost no sign of recovery of erection and our sex life ended. I've been on Cialis for more than 2 years (tried both daily 5mg and 20 mg PRN doses) and also tried the pump, but have had no success. My wife was patient at first, but now out of sheer frustration, we haven't even tried for intimacy in almost a year. I just discovered this site when a new urologist suggested Trimix injections and I have already gained far more info here than any of the doctors have offered.
Thanks for that.

Welcome Searcher. My experience is similar. I also had Gleason 7 PC, but underwent a robotic radical prostatectomy with bilateral nerve sparing in 2022.
No complications and the cancer was completely removed. All PSA results since have been zero/undetectable for PC. Also very grateful for that.
But immediately post surgery I had 100% profound ED, also regardless of the nerves being spared. From my research I believe that often the nerves are traumatised by the procedure and go into a "hibernation" state. Even if they were not touched the intense heat and light during the operation can affect them. My erectile function never returned either, and similarly conservative treatments failed (Trimix injections worked briefly but then caused fibrosis and failed). So I got my implant a bit over 9 months ago and it's the best thing I've done. Fortunately my wife battled through ED with me and we still managed to cobble together a mediocre sex life during that period. Now it's all systems go with my implant and I perform better sexually than in my youth. The limiting factor now is cardio fitness. I now have to take a break two or three times during extended periods of PIV sex, and I'm working on my fitness.
71, married, Sydney Oz. PC/nerve sparing RRP Mar 22 then profound ED. Tried pills, Trimix inj, focal shockwave, VED.
Implanted Mar 6 2025 AMS 700 LGX 21cm x 12mm, no RTEs, MS pump, Penoscrotal. Back to 6.5" BPEL @ 9m.
Recovery great but have a bend.
