Percent of men with ED

There is more to sex than an erect penis. How do you maintain your sexuality both for yourself and for your partner? What techniques do you use to give both of you a great, satisfying sex life? How do you explore your own body and sexuality now that the rules have changed?

Percent of men with ED

Postby Al1962 » Sun Aug 10, 2025 3:10 pm

I am just curious. The statistics always used are 50% at 50yrs old, 60% at 60yrs old, etc. With the statement that 50% of 50yr old's will have experienced ED. But to what extent? And what percent of people at those ages are with severe ED.

If I was still married (21yrs, divorced seven) I could manage sex once per week with pills and that would likely be fine with a long term partner. I do not consider this fine to start a relationship with. I prefer a LTR over casual sex encounters.

It has always been said that 20% of the men get 80% of the woman. As we age and health affects us, I wonder are the same 20% of men still getting 80% of the woman or has ED twisted the situation some?

Thank you.

Al1962, that is an interesting question. "ED" is a huge category. For that reason, it would also be interesting to know things like :
By age group, % with ED and :
- effective treatment with pills
- effective treatment with injections
- effective treatment with implant
- no effective treatment

- Chuck
Feb 2025 - 58 yo, 38 with greatest wife ever
AMS CX, Tenacio, Dr Broghammer (excellent) - pre-op L:7", post-op @ 6 mo L: 6.75" G: 5.5"
2 wks pain, cycling-sex-lifting @ 7 wks, only minor discomfort @ 10 wks, felt like 'new normal' @ 16 wks

ED can be a visual sign of cardiovascular disease. If you have ED start taking a significant interest in your blood system.
1955. I have had ED for years. We were going for a Rigicon Infla10 in October 2024. Life got in the way (heart attack & stent), so we are now going for injections as a fill-in.

As per Cardiovascular disease; 63yr old, I have already lived 20yrs longer than I thought. Every man in the family has had a heart attack and my father died of his second one at 45yrs old. I have Hyperlipidemia, high bad cholesterol, low good cholesterol and super outrageous Triglycerides, like 4000 at one test. I have been on max dose of Niaspan and several other meds, many people can not tolerate even low doses.

2012 I was diagnosed with Diabetes. I first began taking Viagra in 2018. I had a heart attack and a stent placed in 2019. If I go a week between sex (with friend) and then take 80mg of Cialis I am about 85-90%. If I was in a relationship I would consider Injections
