MAUTURBATING

I had my prostate removed a little over 18 months ago. When I masturbate either after using a pump or being flaccid I find my glans have very little feeling any more. They were very sensitive before surgery. It takes me a long time to orgasm because there not sensitive anymore. Its almost like they died during surgery. I was wondering if anyone has experienced this. I had hoped the sensitivity would increase over time. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to increase their sensitivity?

Welcome to the forum ret1199. Sorry to hear of your difficulties.

I found that being erect (post-implant) makes orgasm easier to attain (pressure from the inside as well as stimulation from the outside seems to help). And when I tried sex with a vacuum-induced and constriction ring maintained erection, orgasm was inhibited by the discomfort.

I read that you are using injections to get erect. Does that make a difference?

My radical "nerve sparing" prostatectomy was in October 2018 (getting close to three years ago). As others who have had the surgery will say, orgasm is different now -- sometimes even more intense (always dry though). As this video explains (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33m9pN_vAI4), an erection is very complicated and involves many pathways and nerve connections. I feel you really need to get the brain involved in the process so your mental stimulation creates the anxiety and outcome we desire. How is this accomplished? Sometimes solo, better with a partner (for me, my wife).

As far as "sensitivity increasing over time", for me -- yes. I believe my nerves continue to heal and make new connections.

Yeah, I've had a noticeable decrease in sensitivity since the RRP. Supposedly nerve sparing but most certainly nerve damaged. Orgasms' are definitely more difficult but things do get better. Better but never anywhere near pre-surgery. However, a satisfactory sex life is possible. You're at 18 months so you may well see more improvement. I'm sorry but I don't have any specific suggestions on how to increase your sensitivity.

Good luck.

In my case after R.P. (2016). I ended up with anorgasmia, no erection and incontinence. Injection of Bimix gave me my erection back but anorgasmia has slowly gotten worse. Incontinence leveled off however but I still wear 2 pads per 24 hours.

I resorted to electro-stimulation (estim) for a substantially, substantially reduced orgasm. It would take 45 min to 2 hours to reach climax. Porn, literotica or other outside stimulation is/was needed to go over the top. For the last month or two I have been having no success at climaxing at all. Maybe age has to do with it or over use of estim (I inject and use estim 2 times per week). I estim when I inject at the uro's twice a week (injection) minimum instruction.

Due to recent back to back surgeries I didn't inject for over a month. Subsequently, I lost a lot of "smooth muscle" function and developed an extreme curve over the length of my penis. Effectiveness of the Bimix also decreased so I got a stronger script which I have not used yet.

I've pondered whether I need a break from estimming. Maybe giving it a rest will allow my nerves to recoup. I doubt it but I may try it anyway.

I hope your orgasms come back.

I am 4 years since RP and 3 years since IPP. My glans was absolutely cold up till last month. Orgasms took a 1/2 hr. Finally thing are warming up and getting blood flow and sensitivity back into my glans. Orgasm in 5-10 minutes now. UPDATE: Two months later glans is cold and shriveled most the time again.
