About 6 years ago for some reason my PSA was being checked, and it was coming back high. This happened a few times at one urology clinic. Even though it was high the physician never really said much about it. I did a little research on the internet, and found that you're not supposed to ejaculate I think it is 24 to 48 hours prior to getting your PSA checked, and you are supposed to avoid anything that would jostle your prostate. If you don't do these things, your numbers can come back elevated.
The doctors at the clinic told me nothing and gave no special instruction for PSA test. You probably wouldn't know the details, but it would be interesting to know what your brother actually did to lower his PSA. This seems completely the opposite of what was happening to me. Now I'm older than I was 6 years ago, and nobody suggests PSA check at all. It's really strange how the medical system works in this country.
