Re: implant failure

Thanks Gt1956. Yes I am a recent member of FT and joined after researching lifespan data of the AMS LGX following the failure of my implant after 7 years. As you suggested it was trouble free for that time and getting the implant was the best health decision after my RP in 2011. I now wish I had had...

Re: implant failure

My AMS LGX failed in November after 7 years. It started to leak when pumping up and I felt stinging from the saline in what I guessed was the area of the leak. I tried pumping some more but could not pressurise the cylinders. I deflated and tried again but the pump bulb would not re-inflate. I then ...

Re: How impotent were you from prostatectomy?

I had nerve sparing one side but had complete ED after the prostatectomy. Before the surgery no ED at all. I used injections which worked but with bad pain and PD developed. I did not get any response from 100mgm viagra even 3 years after the surgery and went for the implant. After about 4- 5 years ...

Re: How bad did it get with injections before you moved to implant?

I had 3 years of injections before going for the implant. Initial use of alprostadil (prostaglandin E1) resulted in severe pain and prolonged erections. I switched to Trimix which worked well and no pain but resulted in PD in 3 months of use. It gave my penis an upward bend of about 30 degrees. I re...

Re: Curves

My experience was that my implant removed the bend ( 30 degree bend) caused by PD and it has not returned in the 7 years with the AMS LGX. However the surgeon who did the implant did what is called modelling which is a nice way of saying that during the implant surgery he inflated the implant and be...

Re: Waiting for my revision surgery

Hi Confused95, I used the implant about 2-3 times a week over the 7 years that it was working. Thats about 7000 times maximum, but I think the failure has occurred not from pumping up but friction in the area it creases (dog ears)when un-inflated. I felt the stinging of the saline solution at the lo...

Waiting for my revision surgery

Hello, I thought I would share my recent experience following the failure of my AMS 700LGX 2 weeks ago. My background is a radical prostatectomy in 2011, nerve sparing on one side only. 10 years on I am cancer free so the RP was successful. Erectile function did not return after the RP and viagra an...
