Re: Now, I have kidney disease.
I had pessimistic feelings about my latest labs and there was only a very slight change. The creatinine came down slightly to 1.90. That calculates to GFR of 35 vs 33 on the 23d of May. The doc seemed satisfied that it didn't get worse, but dammit, I wanted more improvement. Now my sodium level is l...

Re: Now, I have kidney disease.
I had another blood test on 5/23 and the creatinine had gone up to 1.98. That still kept me in stage 3b, but I was disappointed. I still had swelling at the urethra and trouble peeing. I hope that's what caused the disappointing result. I'm to have a follow-up appointment with the kidney doc tomorro...

Re: Now, I have kidney disease.
I base that hope on the blood test I got in the hospital the day after surgery. The creatinine level came down quite a bit. I'll have to check to see the actual percentage. That's what is giving me hope today. I'll give the answer, good or bad tomorrow.

Re: Now, I have kidney disease.
I had another blood draw today. Tomorrow is the make or break test. I'll be devastated if the GFR isn't more improved. That will show that I really have bad kidney disease.

Re: Now, I have kidney disease.
I'm surprised at the amount of clotted blood that's involved. I had a tough night, but today, I don't have clots, but do pass blood with every eliminaton.

Re: Now, I have kidney disease.
I got the catheter out this morning and now I'm drinking lots of water, and hoping to pee.

Re: Now, I have kidney disease.
Congratulations, Tomas. Twenty-eight to 35 in a month sounds like a nice jump. How did you discover the kidney problem originally? We discovered the GFR was very low from a routine blood work and they scheduled me with a nephrologist. I was also showing many symptoms of kidney disease, but I actual...

Re: Now, I have kidney disease.
I plugged the Creatinine number into a different equation, and got a GFR of 35. That feels better. Tomorrow, Monday, I get the catheter out and I can't wait. I'm also planning to have labs done asap to see if I can start eating again. I've probably overdone the diet regimen, but better safe than sor...

Re: Defective device what would you do?
Maybe it's my age or current frame of mind, but I can't read a paragraph that long.
Good luck with your problem though.

Re: Now, I have kidney disease.
I had my TURP surgery yesterday evening and it seemed to go well. I had some discomfort afterward, but Tylenol seemed to blunt the pain. A funny thing is I can't feel any discomfort in the prostate. Maybe there aren't nerves there, or maybe they put pain med in the IV. I spent an uncomfortable night...
