Re: Insurance will not cover implants
Not certain what your plans are if you can't get insurance coverage. I did not have the coverage and had to go out of pocket. Check out the folks at Surgeo.com . I used them and they brokered everything and at a reasonable price. Got mine done for $20k. Only extra was my hotel stay and gas to drive ...

Re: Any theories as to why some implants take way more pumps than others ?
Yes it does take about 50 pumps to get is all the way up, pumps are normally completely depressed and takes about 2 minutes. Perhaps it is due to the 21cm cylinders. Who knows? Number of pumps may also depend on internal aspects if the internal structure of the penis, plaque build up, scarring, adhe...

Re: Skinnier implanted men, is there a buldge on your stomach from reservoir?
Hi, My reservoir is visible on the lower left of my abdomen and I can feel it when not-inflated. If the reservoir was implanted above the abd muscles it will likely be visible and able to be felt. When my weight was around the mid 190's not visible at all. Not that I have dropped about 20 lbs and st...

Re: How much did your implant cost you & how many pumps?
My was $20,000 with Cornell in Texas. I too was out of pocket so I brokered it through Surgeo.com. The amount covered everything including $50k of complication insurance. Their service was fantastic. As for as pumps go I would imagine the number of pumps to inflate. That really depends on which one ...

Re: Patient Champion
Just a question then, How does one get assigned a patient advocate. As "piddlin" stated, "He had one assigned to him"; possibly through his doctor, the hospital, insurance or the manufacturer themselves; I dunno. Hopefully he will elaborate upon that. From my experience you must...

Re: Patient Champion
HI, A patient champion is the same as a patient advocate. When I had my implant done in Huston there was an advocate assigned to me. She was with me every step of the surgery process. She met with my wife and I pre-op, went to surgery with me and kept my wife updated. Now for what the champion/advoc...

Re: Sex 2 weeks after surgery
Congratulations Bionic Brother, The delay is not due to the pain possibility. You have to consider the healing process. When the implant was placed in your penis there was a lot of trauma.(A simple cut that get sutured needs to stay sutured for up to 10 day to make sure the tissue regenerates and bi...

Re: Implant Cost and Recovery
Yes very happy I had this done an more than 100% satisfied with result. One thing I told my wife before it was done is that at times my brain told me I had an erection but nothing was there. Sort of like phantom limb pain. Now when those sensations occur I give a couple of pump and enlarge it, It th...

Don't know where you are with this, but might want to check with the Baton Rouge Men's Clinic.

Re: Implant Dr. in New Orleans
You might want to check at Baton Rouge Urology. I think it is Dr. Wills or Dr. Vick. I would have used them, but had to pay out of pocket and plus I know most of the people in the OR where it was going to be done so I went to Cornell in Huston. Very satisfied. Best of Luck!
