Re: JB's implant journal- Dr. Kramer
2:00 AM - I got up to empty my catheter bag and checked my email. I had a note from Dr. Kramer with a link to a video of my procedure! This guy is amazing. I'm putting the LONG text of my email response here. Check out the video. Jon, Hopefully, by the time you read this, the catheter will be out. I...

Re: Hi there! Young fella here.
My heart goes out to you guys. About 5 years ago, nearly overnight, I lost my voice. I was diagnosed with "bowed" vocal cords. I went to the Vanderbilt Voice Center and saw the head of the department. This is the place all the Nashville singers go for their voices. There are autographed pi...

Re: JB's implant journal- Dr. Kramer
I think it is fairly funny...I got an AMS700 MS. They included a little key ring that is a replica of the pump and deflation bulb. That's fairly clever. HaHa. The catheter still hurts. I imagine the soreness and swelling of the actual operation will begin tomorrow, but as I said, Dr. Kramer didn't s...

Re: JB's implant journal- Dr. Kramer
Wow, five days on a catheter? I guess you get used to it. Mine comes out in the morning. Although I'm still "dressed" and haven't seen the end result, Dr. Kramer said it went well. He takes such an interest in his patients! I sent him a non-urgent email and he already answered it, in betwe...

Re: JB's implant journal- Dr. Kramer
Update. The surgery is done. Dr. Kramer is fabulous. He is enthusiastic in his work and is so concerned with his patients. He's so thorough in talking with you. Has a great bedside manner and is eager to please. All in all, it was a good experience this morning. The worst part so far is that damn ca...

Re: JB's implant journal- Dr. Kramer
Thanks, Rev. Donnie. Rev. J.B. will be laid up in the hotel room until he returns home by plane on Saturday. I have a laptop and an ice bag. Should be good to go.

Re: JB's implant journal- Dr. Kramer
Thanks for the well wishes guys. I knew of Dr. Kramer's reputation from others on this board. I searched his name and found over 500 references to him, almost all positive. I watched a lot of his videos. I was delighted when I learned that he was "in network" for my insurance. He's been gr...

Re: Getting nervous
Yikes!! One to two weeks? I guess I'm up for it, I'm already in Baltimore. Regarding sitting on a donut to play the piano, I can't really do that. It's for a church choir rehearsal and I haven't told any of them that I'm having surgery. Maybe I'll get lucky!!
