Re: Dr. Eid for ~$30,000 or Dr. Hakky for ~$20,000?
As a cash patient you should be able to negotiate at least a 10% discount. Or is that already figured into your numbers? I would certainly ask the doctor what is possible. Both of those doctors probably get half their price when they take US medicare patients, so they will work for somewhat less. I ...

Have a look at this thread by Ruktitan. It might help you decide if you were undersized: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=9851

Re: Traveling to/from surgery
For those who traveled very far to see these doctors, how long were you in town? What does the follow up appointment look like? I’d hate to be stuck in a hotel or an Airbnb for 3 weeks waiting to see the doctor. I flew from Calif to see Dr Eid, 6 hrs each way. My schedule was: Wed: Pre-op consult F...

Re: Titan pump suddenly becomes indented while pumping, restricting how much fluid can go into the cylinders
Have you tried rotating the pump slightly so you are depressing a different part of the pump bulb? I have the feeling (unfounded) that repeatedly pumping on the same part of the bulb could eventually weaken the bulb and cause an indent. Might be worth trying that just so you know if the problem is i...

Re: Recent Implant with Dr. Eid, travel/Covid Q's
I will probably book the larger chairs on the plane with a little extra to have more comfort. If possible consider getting a "lie flat" seat on your return flight. The seat goes completely flat and 6' long so it's actually very comfortable and easy to sleep. I had that on my 3 hour return...

Re: Recent Implant with Dr. Eid, travel/Covid Q's
Yes, I forgot that I did use a heating pad as well as the showers. Dr Eid said that was an acceptable alternative to baths. I could never keep the bath water hot enough to do much good, but showers can be almost scalding. I slept with the heating pad between my legs for the first few weeks IIRC.

Re: Recent Implant with Dr. Eid, travel/Covid Q's
I don't know how to do to make the baths now (Dr.Eid told me to do 2/3 baths a day for 30 minutes each), I'm scared it can happens again.. I found it easier to take hot showers instead of the baths. The shower water can be hotter and directed right at your groin, give that a try. Also start practic...

Re: Recent Implant with Dr. Eid, travel/Covid Q's
Last thing is about prescriptions. I was suggested to try to have them filled in my country but medicines here are different and have other names. So I will probably have to fill them in NY. I have printed the pdf with Dr.Eid prescriptions papers , do you know if it is enough to get the medicines i...

Re: Titan reservoir "LOCKOUT" valve - Auto-inflation
Bottom line, Titan owners should not put one squeeze in after deflation because doing so will defeat the lockout valve and permit auto-inflation. The recommendation to add a pump after deflation is from the Coloplast documentation for the Titan: VERY IMPORTANT: After the prosthesis has been deflate...
