Re: How does one choose which implant to select
Well Lost Sheep, I have no surgery scheduled. I am still investigating the process to prepare my mind in case nothing else works. I live in Modesto, CA. by the way. I'm a pessimist by nature and expect no miracles from the other treatments available. I want to be prepared to make the big step to the...

How does one choose which implant to select
Has anyone done a comparison of he various implants as to pros and cons? Does one just rely on the surgeons recommendation? The manufacturers all claim there products are the best. I suspect doctors prefer certain devices because they are used to them.

I'm confused
Does Medicare pay for injection drugs or not? I'm 70 and have Medicare and GEHA insurance thru the federal government as a federal retiree. I've read that Medicare doesn't pay for Viagra, Cialis, etc.

Re: Hello from a newbie
Well, I've made an appointment to see Dr. Lue, the E. D. specialist at UCSF in September. I want to find out what the next step is in penile therapy. I tried the pump a few years ago and found it to be a disappointment. I'm open to what comes next. Perhaps it will be injections but who knows what he...

Re: West Coast Implant Surgeons
Too early to tell if I'm going to get an implant or not. Just had RP in June 2016. Am trying to get an appointment with Lue to discuss penile therapy to see what he recommends. I am still fighting incontinence at this point. So far I am open to an implant if nothing better works. I still have a lot ...

Re: West Coast Implant Surgeons Follow Up
Thanks for all the replies. I live 90 miles east of San Francisco. I had my first medical follow up after surgery today at UCSF. PSA was no where to be found! The interview went well. I got a referral to Dr. Lue (SP?) at UCSF who is an E. D. specialist (urologist) to consult about injections, etc. I...

West Coast Implant Surgeons
I see East Coast surgeons being discussed here but not West Coast. Anyone have West Coast surgeons to recommend?

Re: Your experience or opinion of UCSF Hospital and followup
Thanks for the reply. I am disappointed in my local urologist as it took him 3 biopsies to find the cancer although my PSA steadily climbed to 38 in a straight line over 6 year period. He never mentioned that I could have had a PET/MRI scan done at UCSF. Once I had it done, after the 3rd biopsy, the...

Your experience or opinion of UCSF Hospital and followup
I had a RP in June 2016. Next week will be 30 days since the operation. I am curious as to other people's experiences there and the follow up treatments they received. Did you receive quality aid in treating your ED? If all else failed and you went to an implant, did you get quality help (qualified ...

Hello from a newbie
I had a radical prostatectomy 3 weeks ago at UC-San Francisco, Mission Bay Hospital. Dr. Carroll was my surgeon and he is head of the department. Method used was the da Vinci Robot. I found this forum while searching the Internet for just such a forum. I always thought my biggest challenge would be ...
