Re: Am I Taking This Seriously Enough?

... How bad do you want it.....? I understand what you mean. My point of view is more like "something's broken" and I'm motivated to fix that if possible. The ability to be sexual was something I've always enjoyed until recently. So I guess I see an implant as corrective surgery but with ...

Am I Taking This Seriously Enough?

I've had no surgery in my life, and the only general anesthesia was for a routine colonoscopy. I avoided surgery for prostate cancer by having radiation. I've always been afraid of surgery. Yet when it comes to implant surgery I feel strangely ready to continue ahead and have it done. Somehow all my...

Re: 4 Months Out, Best Underware & Life Changes

Hi Mike, sounds good!

What surgery technique did your doctor use, peno-scrotal?
And when you say "semi erection all the time", do you mean also when it's deflated as far as possible?

Re: Should I tell my friends?

Tell him it was a TURP procedure for enlarged prostate, and no you don't want to discuss it further.

I didn't share my prostate cancer treatment news with anyone outside of my pc support group.
For an implant. I'd certainly tell my significant other but no one else.

Re: Questions to Ask a Local Implant Surgeon

I researched Dr Karpman after he was mentioned here, and I'm very impressed. I added him to my shortlist of surgeons to consider. I'm still pondering the logistics of the surgery, but if I have to fly somewhere it doesn't matter much if it's Baltimore or Mountain View. That's the attraction of UCLA,...

I'm in southern calif. My plan is to consult with Eid, Kramer, and a local doc at UCLA. Then I'll make a decision among the three.

Questions to Ask a Local Implant Surgeon

I have a 2nd appointment next week with a local surgeon from a major university. He's going to do injection, ultrasound, and discuss implant surgery. I like him, and he's 3000 miles closer than Kramer or Eid so the convenience factor is huge. But there's much more to this decision than convenience, ...
