Re: Penile traction device or VED before implant opinions?

So I just read through this thread, and I see there is a legitimate difference of opinion on this topic. My Surgeon has done a couple of peer reviewed studies that show a benefit from using traction prior to surgery. He thinks VED has only a temporary effect, since it does not do a great job a stret...

Re: Newly Bionic

Love your signature - "Nothing is over until we decide it is." Perfect. Dr. Hakky is spoken of very highly by many on this site - you should do well. First week can be a little rough - but after that everything gets much better quickly. Welcome to the brotherhood. Best wishes for a speedy ...

Re: Having a hard time moving forward with implant

Enzo, Welcome to the site. All (most) of us are here to help in any way we can. We don't want to push you into one treatment or another - but we do want to give you first hand information to help you make good decisions. I think most of us who are bionic were extremely afraid/concerned/hesitant befo...

Re: How long until walking, exercise, field work.

My experience was this: pretty much down for the count for about 1 week. Could have gone to work at my office job after 1 week - but glad I didn't have to since I was still pretty sore. I was feeling much better after 2 weeks, and was able to go to back work and start back with light exercise. I am ...

Re: Implant doctor

Has any one had a female implant surgeon and how was your experience? Hey Sputnik - I thought I'd jump in and lend you my 2 cents. Although my implant surgeon was a male, his PA (Physicians Assistant) is female. I spent about equal time with each of them. I will tell you I started out VERY apprehen...

Re: Help please

I second the suggestion for Lidocaine cream. The stuff works wonders and isn't addictive. You can just go pick up some of the 4% formula at Walgreens. Works great.

As always follow your doctors instructions.

Re: Taking the plunge to becoming bionic!

sgarza, I definitely don't mean to suggest you can do something with your hands that you can't ... you know your situation better than any of us, so I hope I didn't offend. Again - you can do very well with a malleable, and if that is what your Dr recommends then we are behind you 100%! Also keep i ...

Re: Taking the plunge to becoming bionic!

You might be one of the few posters on FT that the malleables are designed for. My suggestion is to really evaluate if you don't have the dexterity/strength to run the pump. Then look into the future & see if you might learn how to use the pump with some therapy & specialized training. Fina...

Re: I Have Joined the Brotherhood

Welcome to the brotherhood Mike123 - better days lie ahead! You are so early on in your recovery, I don't doubt you cant locate the pump. I had minimal swelling, but still couldn't manipulate the damn thing at least until week 3 began. This is serious surgery - while am not trying to encourage it, I...

Re: I need a Dr.

1. Use the physician finder at the top of this website. 2. Use the physician referral lists that can be found on the Coloplast and AMS websites. 3. Ask your GP for a referral. 4. Ask your local urologist for a referall to an implant specialist. 5. Get a recommendation from somome you know who has an...
