I found that doctors who don't know any better or who don't want to be bothered have a standard answer, "it's in your head". I think the vast majority of the time it's not a psychological problem, it's a physical problem. This is especially likely given the experience you had.

I'm pre-implant and have always had an upward curve. I thought an implant straightens out all curves...up, down, left, right. I'm surprised you maintained your natural curve.
