Re: Insurance Woes
From somebody that was in more or less the same boat. I initially was approved for an implant because the AFCA had just come out and my company's plan had not been fully grandfathered. Surgery and implant paid for. Now 5 years later plan is fully grandfathered so no go. The plan specifically exclude...

Re: Starting to Cycle
Doctor also told me what inflammation and bruising needed to resolve itself before I could do things. The bruising and swelling were well resolved. Therefore, I exercised my judgment and exercised care it what I chose to do. This is a place where the body rules, if things had been that swelling and ...

Re: Starting to Cycle
Yes fellows, the boys don't like the pump on the first time around. For me on the second time they didn't complain much about the new pump but were definitely in morning over the loss of the first one. Cycling now just a little ahead of the 4 weeks rest time suggested (recommended) by my surgeon. No...

Re: Pain Level after implant surgery
For me there was little pain either time I had implant surgery. The first time did require some pain meds during the night as I developed a burning pain in the bladder area off and on. That morning I traced the problem to a nursing error. They had my catheter routed over my be rail causing the cathe...

Re: Starting to Cycle
I forgot to mention a hint for all who are just starting out cycling, Keep your fingernails trimmed short!
Fingernails against a still sensitive scrotum are not pleasant. A month or too of quite short nails will improve your comfort level.

Re: Starting to Cycle
Thinking back to when I got implant one, 5 to 7 pumps depending on how full the pump was, was what I manage for the first cycle or so. The pump got hard enough that pumping it made my scrotum sore. Tried to add a pump or two each day, some times were just uncomfortable, some days stung all around th...

Re: How to pull on the pump
Pulling mine down as soon I could get a grip on the pump. Instructions were to tug it down gently. This was the same for both my first and for the revision 4 and a half years later. For me things seemed fairly firmly attached so I didn't really notice any effect, but that might have been as it shoul...

Re: average number of days off work
Office job, off work for 2 weeks and a day. Surgery was on a Friday and return would have been on Labor Day so I added one more day to the time between revision surgery and work.
Time off was dictated by doctor's conservative estimate and my companies time off for illness policies.

Re: Thinking about an implant
Thinking about an implant? Think long, hard, inquiringly, critically. Your decision to go with an implant will be for all intents and purposes irrevocable. For me, I added up where I was; I couldn't get an erection with injections any more and the VED stuff was just to contrived for me or my spouse....

Re: 'Egg' in the scrotum
I don't know for Coloplast pumps, but for AMS pump a fluffy washcloth placed over the key chain model will give you a fair replica of how the pump will feel. At 3 weeks I can find the release button and pump bulb on my AMS 700CX, This is however a revision for me, so I have some experience to draw f...
