Re: Pain at submuscular reservoir site?
Might I ask about your body physique? I will also receive my reservoir in the sub-muscular/abdominal area rather than retropubic space due to my history of prostrate surgery & radiation. In pre surgery discussions, Dr Eid told me to expect some discomfort in that area at first but it should fad...

Re: Pain at submuscular reservoir site?
I had no intense pain in the resovior area. That said I would get periodic jab like minor pains in that area for maybe the first 30 days. Check w your doctor but a lot of healing is going on. Thanks Florida. I'm getting the impression this is unusual. Hoping for the passage of time to resolve it bu...

Pain at submuscular reservoir site?
I'm three days out from implant surgery, My doc places the reservoir in the left submuscular/abdominal area rather than retropubic, which I understand is called an ectopic placement. It's quite palpable today -- firm swelling at the lower left abdomen -- and it was super painful postop right in that...

Re: Have you ever heard of this?
A good friend of mine had radical prostectomy 13 months ago due to severe cancer. He was implanted 12 days ago with a Boston Scientific and the Dr left him completely deflated…. Also don’t go in for his first check up til 6 weeks… Seems to me like he’s setting himself up for a long road to pumping ...

Re: Deflated immediately after surgery?
As much as I disliked having a catheter in, it does not seem to me to be an appropriate "standard of care" that the AMA (assuming your surgery was in the United States) would approve. I had surgery 10.26 with Dr. Paul Perito. He sent me home deflated. I've been able to pee although the pr...

Deflated immediately after surgery?
So I had the Coloplast Titan put in today. Lots of postop pain particularly where the reservoir was installed sub muscular. Chewing all then oral pain meds in the hotel room tonight. Bigger concern - i couldn’t pee postop at all. They hadn’t left a ucath in. After trying many things they finally def...

Re: Trimix First Doctor Meeting
Sure, try increasing. I did. Couldn't get it to work for me. If that fails reach out to your uro. My guy in Nevada told me that 99% of people respond and if the Trimix didn't cut it he'd order Quadmix. In the end I said screw it and am doing the implant. Either I'm the 1% or the 99% figure was an ov...

Re: Is the hassle worth the moments you can have sex
For me it's pretty simple. If I ever want to have intercourse with my wife again (married 4.5 years ago and dwindling response to oral meds/almost zero response to injections) it's an implant. It's more an "us" thing I guess and wanting to have that level of intimacy in our lives. For the ...

Re: Thinking about an implant
I think most folks on this board would agree it's critical your urologist has extensive experience with implant surgery. I would first ascertain that he/she has done hundreds if not thousands of implants and is actively doing a fair number monthly. You'll see various names come up on the board regul...

Re: Doctor Recommention
This sounds like a crappy result.
If you’re willing to drive a bit north I’d see Dr Yafi at UC Irvine.
There are a number of other LA high volume implant specialists that could help if Yafi isn’t a fit for you.
All the best.
