Re: Vacuum Device

VED therapy before and after and strong recommendation for hydro type of VED!!! I used a hydro pump pre-op, about twice a week, and, at three months post-op, started using it again about 1-2 times a week. I cannot recommend enough the hydro style pump versus the air vacuum pump. I have used both. Wi...

Re: Insurance said I was covered

I had a similar experience almost catch me. Dr Eid's office and the insurance said the procedure was 'approved' (NOTE: NOT the same as covered). However, the approval meant absolutely nothing. Before traveling, when I asked the insurance co point blank if there would be any portion I would have to p...

Re: Dr. Kramer

Dr Kramer was scheduled to be 'off' the month of July. I believe he indicated to me back in May that he was going abroad to assist/teach implant techniques.
I also have an outstanding/unanswered email to him so I suspect he is pretty much unavailable for July.

Re: Scrotum fluid following implant

Kurt0726, I am eight weeks out from surgery and I have had a fluid filled sack inside the left side of my scrotum for the last 3 to 4 weeks, I am guessing a little larger than a walnut. I contacted Dr. Kramer and he suspects it is a seroma, a sack of serous fluid, rather than a hematoma, and it shou...

Re: Dr. Kramer

Dr. Kramer recently told me that he estimates that he installs about 60% titan and 40% AMS.
I feel he is quite comfortable with both brands.

Re: Dr. Kramer

My experience with Dr Kramer has been wonderful but I echo the feedback on the UMMC being substandard. I, too, had issues but was vigilant about everything and I was able to catch oversights before they became issues and push for action directly at times. I hope the administrative aspect as coordina...

Re: Dr. Kramer

I had some correspondence with Dr Andrew Kramer yesterday. His UMMC email is still valid but he offered another one, @gmail.com, that is also being monitored. Also, he is responsive to texts to his personal cell. akramer@som.umaryland.edu (still valid) andrewkramerurology@gmail.com (617) 823-1850 (s...

Re: Any of you have procedure far from home alone ?

Evinrude, I had a seven hour plane trip to return home at post op 48hrs. I had no trouble staying at the hotel or traveling by myself. Between stocking up on food and supplies ahead of time and calling in orders to the in house restaurant, I was fine. Just have some ice packs on hand as you will be ...
