UPDATED 08/22/19: Introduction and implant info

Denied for the second time. They are still stating that sexual dysfunction is not covered. Hilariously, they then state that neither male nor female are covered for that, including implants...yet they cover the sexual dysphoria change from female to male including that. So, I've filed an official re...

Re: Insurance will not cover implants

I’m still fighting my insurance company. I’m on round two of the appeals process . I should know something hopefully this next week. I’m still hopeful we can get this resolved however I also know this could turn into a total battle.

Re: Introduction and implant info

So, I got another rejection today from Cigna. I'm now sending it to their "Level 2" . What a crock of bull. This is a copy of my letter I'd sent - note the formatting is goofed due to the HTML here and I've redacted the company I work for to protect the guilty... Re: Customer Appeal Reques...

Re: Insurance

I'm fighting this exact thing at the moment. My Dr. has submitted all the correct codes, but my company has decided they don't want to cover this. I am going after them for "Sexual Discrimination" based on them doing this for Gender Dysphoria (meaning a biological female wanting to become ...

Re: Insurance will not cover implants

Sadly, I'm going through this IDENTICAL issue with my company. I had found the EEOC info and then saw this post. I've used this language and just filed my appeal via Cigna. Additionally, I'm filing a grievance with my HR department based on gender discrimination in the morning. What a ridiculous pil...

Re: Introduction and implant info

Sorry for the confusion - yes, it is covered for a sex change, not for a man with a physiological issue such as prostate cancer. The doc did the peer meeting today and "politely screamed" at the insurance doc. Being only 52, he told them that they could either solve the issue correctly or ...

Re: Introduction and implant info

Well. Fighting the insurance. Already been rejected, appealed, rejected again. My Urologist is meeting with the insurance people to do a WTH phone call tomorrow. He's almost as pissed as I am. Almost... I also threw away my bi-mix and needles. Went to use it and simply walking into the bedroom as I ...

Re: Introduction and implant info

The fetching Mrs. R and I spent over two hours with my urologist/surgeon and the AMS rep. Both separate and together. I had over 2 pages of questions in total, broken into implant and surgery questions. I had each one answered to my satisfaction. Both the doc and the rep were impressed with my quest...

Introduction and implant info

Hello all. I've been lurking here for about a few years as I've gone through my own journey. I was diagnosed at 48 (December 2015) with a Gleason of 3+4=7. My PSA was lower at 4.2, however had ticked up 2+ points in 1 year. My only reason for being checked was due to my dad having prostate cancer at...
