Your posts are really helpful. I got home from the hospital yesterday and seem to be doing ok. I’m preparing for days 4-6 if my experience is anything like yours.
What seem like mundane daily experiences can be really helpful to others. Keep them coming!

Re: March 6 is the Day
Made it through the night ok, thankful for the meds. Removing the catheter wasn’t the most pleasant experience! My surgeon said the latest research shows no benefit for full inflation following surgery, so they deflated me to 30%. Squeezing my poor, bruised twig and bag ‘o nuts was the worst part of...

Re: March 6 is the Day
In in my hospital room. Lots of pain post op. Pain meds just taking the edge off. Doc said everything went as planned. Due to re-shuffling of my intestines following my prostate removal 3 years ago, they had to put the resovoir through a separate incision. I appreciate my bionic brothers! TheProfessor

March 6 is the Day
Hi everyone. Implant day is coming the day after tomorrow, and I appreciate all the journals, tips, and encouragement from you all over the past few months. As I think about coming home from the hospital, might you offer a list of recommended items to have at home as I recover? I have the frozen pea...
Re: Here I Go
I hadn’t thought about that aspect of the situation, Larry. Now I’m really ticked!
Re: Here I Go
Well, I got all hooked up to the IV, consulted with the anesthesiologist, and in walks my surgeon for the pre-op visit. Evidently, the AMS rep left for Florida and forgot to leave the implant at the hospital. Surgery had to be rescheduled. My surgeon was beyond frustrated. We'll try again in a coupl...
Here I Go
Implant tomorrow morning. All my mind can think is “What are you doing, fool?!” This forum has been great in helping get the nerve to do this. I’ll update when I can.

Finally Got the Green Light from Insurance
Howdy from South Texas. After months of struggles with insurance, changing doctors, and then changing insurance companies, I finally got the pre-authorization for an implant later this month. Because I have a 90 degree upward Peyronie's bend, it will actually be 2 procedures. I'm not looking forward...

Re: Insurance Woes
Apparently it's my employer that has the exclusion for this procedure. BCBS would cover it were it not for my employer's policy, which has a grandfather clause that excludes this, regardless of any federal laws. Since our insurance is changing in January, I'll take a look at my options during the op...
