Re: Travel or stay local

Drs150, So here is my point of view: Your choice of surgeon is one of the most important, if not the most important, decision you will make in this process. In my opinion, traveling less that half a day to get to a known, established implant surgeon is time well spent. Although there are some very g...

Re: Surgery on November 24th -- questions, concerns

Hello Hopeful, I wanted to give you some feedback on your questions. These are my perspectives and thoughts, not medical advice. 1. I personally would not be too worried about having surgery during this pandemic. I am scheduled to have finger surgery in October. Hospitals and surgical facilities are...

Re: Implanted on Wednesday...

SonnyJim,

My advice is don't worry about it. Every Doctor seems to have their own protocol ... mine left me completely uninflated for 4 weeks after surgery - only then did I start cycling.

Everything has turned out just fine. ;)

Re: 9 days Post Op

Joe, It's waaay too early to be making judgements about anything. It is completely normal to be short, swollen, and unhappy for a couple of weeks after surgery. I myself could barely get up out of my chair for the entire first week. But things should start getting better for you now, and you should ...

Re: Insurance Preapproval and Cost Estimate

Hey Mike, I agree with your concern. I have been burned in the past by this. My guess is that your Drs office has dealt with your insurance co in the past and they have paid up - so they are not too concerned about getting paid. But here's the thing - your Drs office will make you sign something tha...

Re: T Minus 24 Hours

Congratulations Cut! Be prepared for some discomfort the 1st week ... after that - everything should get better very quickly. I like a Dr. who tailors his choice of implant to the patient ... hopefully the CX is exactly the right device for you. Follow your Dr's orders to the letter ... don't do any...

Re: Oh crap !!!!

Cut, Just wanted to jump in here with some well wishes. I hope all goes well with your surgery. My first week after surgery was a little rough - but I'm kind of a softie when it comes to this medical stuff. Took my pain meds for a couple days, but ibuprofen was all I really needed after that. For me...

Good, useful post. The best part of FT is the brothers trying to help one another out.

Re: Bionic back to Normal

Would I prefer to be rich, good looking and 25 again? Or should I be thankful for what I have now and make the most of it?
