Re: Can it be fixed without full replacement?

Also just a heads up, if your company uses a self funded or self pay insurance, it'll be managed by a insurance company but your company has full control over whether to pay a bill or not. While this gets costs down, it does screw you as a patient because if the insurance hoses you over, you can't s...

Re: Broken again?

Do you even know there is a preconnected option? There may be a little excess tubing but there is no connections to go bad. This one everything is pre connected except for the reservoir. AMS rep told me that they use the pre connected units then lay the tubing from the reservoir and pump together c...

Re: Broken again?

Tmansdorfer - mine would be different as it's mostly due to the insurance giving everyone involved misinformation and saying it was a covered procedure. So it wouldn't be medical malpractice, just insurance lying to us and not correcting their mistake until after the damage was done, not just once b...

Re: Broken again?

I replied to you before! I think you need to become more forceful!! I would speak to your doctor… you don’t mention his name…. 3 in a year??? Not acceptable. If he does enough business with ams they will work with him to get everything covered as well as the hospital can contribute as well. It woul...

Re: Can it be fixed without full replacement?

If the device is defective (which the surgeon can determine and attest to upon removal), the entire cost of the new device and the surgical/hospital fees "should" be covered under the manufacturer's warranty. At least that's what I learned when I did my research back in 2023. Here's a lin...

Re: Can it be fixed without full replacement?

John: Since it appears that the first, if not both, were due to device failure…..have you spoken to the patient rep/advocate from the manufacturer? What has the surgeon actually told you? Total replacement and full book price? What are they telling you the deal is? Neither IPP manufacturers, surgeo...

Can it be fixed without full replacement?

I'm just wondering, since insurance has done a number on me, the Dr, and Hospital and I have no means to pay for this second revision ( third surgery ) is it possible for a defective device to be fixed? It would have to be cheaper than removing and replacing everything. My implant, from what I can f...

If you're denied by insurance here's some info

If you have been denied by your insurance provider and you are getting a AMS device ( one from Boston Scientific ) please contact Boston Scientific either directly or ask your Boston Scientific Rep ( if you already have a device and have talked to them ) and ask about their UPAP team. Re: AMS pump such a problem?

Usually you won't know just from looking at your ball sack. But if they start feeling around then they will for sure notice you have a third ball in there. Nothing to worry about, especially if you tell them the truth that because you have that, you can vary how hard and how long you stay that way. ...

Re: Is It possible to keep the inflated implant into your pants?

When I was cycling it before my latest device failed, I could pump it as full as I could get it and still get it into my pants, difficult and somewhat painful after a time for sure. But I was doing that as I didn't want to get up earlier to pump it up and wait the 15 to 20 or 30 minutes for cycling,...
