Re: Maximum time inflated cycling?

I often leave inflated overnight.

I am curious about why some suggest a reduction of sensation or erosion for doing so. If that was the case, then mallables should be a problem since they are constantly "inflated" -- why would anyone recommend or have a mallable?

Leaving inflated overnight

I'm 2 months out from surgery.

I'm currently inflating every night a bedtime, leaving inflated overnight, and deflate in the morning. Seems to be a good cycling solution. The surgical capsule is still forming, so I want it to be as stretched out as much as possible.

AGI will also change this board.

If the admins allow it, the Frank Talk discussion boards can be analyzed via AI to create a summary of any topic without having to dig through the archives or do a tedious set of searches. Google's notebookLM can do this now.

SURGICAL CAPSULE FORMATION DURING FIRST 3 MONTHS AFTER SURGERY: Cycling vs. leaving implant fully inflated

Surgical capsules are formed around the implant cylinders and around the reservoir during the months after surgery. This takes about 3 - 6 months. Once formed, the capsule is NOT flexible. Therefore, a capsule that is smaller than the fully inflated cylinders will impede achieving full inflation in ...

Re: Maybe headed to revision at 2.5 years

If the resulting surgical capsule is not flexible (as stated above), then cycling will not solve this problem. It cannot be both deflated and inflated. And apparently it cannot stretch once it is established.

Re: Maybe headed to revision at 2.5 years

But that leads to a Sophie's choice. For about four months after surgery either: -- remain inflated so that the surgical capsule forms around the expanded cylinders (but then being unable to deflate because the surgical capsule around the reservoir has formed around the emptied reservoir). Basically...

Re: Maybe headed to revision at 2.5 years

"The capsule is not flexible when it's fully formed that's why while it's forming you keep expand both the cylinders and reservoir." That seems to be an argument for maintaining expansion of the cylinders virtually all the time -- so that the capsule forms around the cylinders in their exp...

Re: Maybe headed to revision at 2.5 years

Imho, there needs to be much more clarity about the effects of surgical capsules and how they interact with the various parts of the 3 piece system. A capsule apparently is going to form whether the parts remain inflated, deflated or are cycled. Cycling would not seem to affect the capsule because i...

Re: Maybe headed to revision at 2.5 years

7 weeks out of surgery. I am keeping my AMS 700 LGX about 75% inflated with the idea that scar tissue is forming now and for several months -- and I don't want it to restrict expansion during inflation. "If your implant is partially inflated during the day, it will put pressure inside your tiss...

Re: AMS Tenacio pump

That is unfortunate. The AMS has a Momentary Squeeze (MS) pump with a one-way “poppet” valve (search for "poppet" on this forum for more info) has problems. I am 7 weeks out from surgery, and the poppet valve is not working properly (cannot squeeze the pump -- the pump is hard as a rock). ...
