Re: Roll Call - Who Joined the Bionic Brotherhood in 2022?
Implanted on 8/23/22, so it’s been four months since my surgery. Had an uneventful recovery, outside of expected swelling, discoloration and tenderness for a few weeks. Began cycling and resumed sex 21 days after surgery. Am absolutely thrilled with the results. No size loss. No hassles with meds an...

Re: Did Insurance Cover the Procedure?
Insurance covered my implant procedure. I paid $460 for the entire thing, and I am not yet on Medicare. That $460 went toward satisfying my deductible. My use of other options was well documented by my doctor, so it was no problem getting the implant approved. I can’t believe the freedom this implan...

Re: Surgery as outpatient
Got my implant as an outpatient. Reported to the surgery center at 6:00am and was at home in bed by noon. Never had a catheter. Did have a drain. I emptied the drain myself several times and reported to my doctor’s office the next afternoon to have the drain removed. That felt strange, but it wasn’t...

Re: Lifting weights with Implant question for Bionic guys
Once you have healed, there are no restrictions, as far as the implant is concerned, regarding weightlifting. My doctor has told me it’s fine to do squats, deads, benching, sit-ups, etcetera. I started light exercise at the gym three weeks after receiving my implant, and then gradually increased the...

Re: First consultation
I thought about having multiple consultations, but only had one. I felt very comfortable with my doctor, he was recommended by Coloplast, he works at a Center of Excellence, and I felt he really cared about my concerns going into the procedure. My surgeon also is recommended by Boston Scientific, so...

Re: Have you ever heard of this?
Yes, I have heard of doctors who leave the implant deflated and don’t see patients for followup until six-weeks after the surgery. From what I’ve read on this site and elsewhere, these men seem to do just fine. I think it’s really important and wise to follow your doctor’s instructions and not be in...

Re: Surgery - Monday, October 24th
Wishing you the best. I was implanted two months ago this week by a surgeon who trained under Dr. Levine. So glad I did this. It has been life-changing. I’m sure that you will feel the same way after you’ve healed up. PM me anytime if I can be of help or encouragement.

Re: What is the first thing you thought after waking up after your implant operation?
I was pissed that the doc couldn't fit in the 24 cm that he said he might could have lol. Honestly, I was relieved that all went well and couldn't believe I went through all of that. It was extremely surreal. I still can't believe its real. Same here. I woke up from the surgery feeling surprisingly...
