Re: Post Prostatectomy Erection?

I was relying on the pills for several years before my never sparing prosectomy (age 64). 6months after surgery pills were not enough - had some success with pills plus pumping. 12 months later went with trimix injections works great. I have also heard it could take 2 years for full nerve recovery. ...

Re: Coloplast vs. AMS....An interesting twist.

This is interesting (and funny).
Had prostate surgery 20 months ago . Started using TriMIx with much success :) 8 months ago.

I hope Trimix works for me until the blue-tooth feature becomes available (with cordless charging)

Re: Surgery - Monday, October 24th

MSChicago,

Best of luck to you. I will be following along, because I suspect the day will come when Trimix will fail me.
P.S. I'm also in the Chicago area (in the burbs).

Re: Pain after injections?

I have been on Trimix (a pretty standard strength) for 6 months now, once/twice per week. As for the intended goal it works great! Early on the long-lasting side effect was a significant ache, lasting until things went limp ~2.5 hours. 6 months later that ache has diminished to minor discomfort (als...

Re: Not super happy with the erection I received from injection at Docs office

My first tri-mix injection in the Dr. office was 20 units; was promising but only about 60% of what would be needed for penetration. The Dr. was happy with this early result and told me to increase by only 5 units at a time. I went all the way up to 35 units and then had phenomenal success, an impre...

Re: Is 29 gauge 1/2 inch needle TOO big?

This weekend was my 26th injection, consider myself of average size.
All of my injections utilized the 29 gauge - 1/2" needle, inserted until the hub is flush with the surface. I have not had a single mis-fire, and am to the point of barely feeling the injection

Re: Injection Journey, Alprostidal

Not Alprostidal, But a few notes - I started my Trimix journey with an instructional dose in the urologist office in early March. The doc's prescription specified a 1/2" needle as opposed to 5/16". When I questioned the needle length; he said NO, for best results use the 1/2'' and push it ...

Re: Pump prior to injection

[quote="1969CevyC10"]I tried using a 5/16" needle 3 times, and all 3 times it did not work. The Uro used a 1/2" needle in her office the first time I was injected so I switched back to a 1/2" needle and it worked. I think everyone is a little different but I know 1/2" i...

Re: frequent injectors question

The following is only my opinion: I think some portion of the initial dose may stay effective to some degree in your system for 24+ hours, and this is the reason they suggest no more frequent than every other day? I went with my normal 30 unit dose for a great time around 10PM. So 12 hours later, I ...

Re: Question

I agree with what everyone else has responded with, you may want to consider a different doctor: The first dose will likely be very modest and potentially disappointing. My first instructional/practice session with Trimix was in the Urologist office. He has a lot of experience helping those of us wi...
