Re: Infection signs and symptoms

Go see Dr Eid in NY. He is obsessed with infection and ways it can occur and how to avoid. He developed the “no-touch” technique but given that hes done over 8k implants hes had to diagnose and deal with infections. I believe he will charge you $300 for an in person consultation (if hes not covered ...

Re: Implant 9/29/23 - Dr. Eid

Fyi, Dr Eid confirmed, I got the older version of the coloplast pump which makes a louder sound but which he firmly believes lasts longer than the new coloplast (which makes no noise). He is currently advising younger patients to strongly consider the older version to avoid a revision in less than 1...

Cycling 3 days after surgery - Dr Eid - “auto-deflation”

Hi all. Got implanted 3 days ago on 9/29, 42 year old, wrote a journal on another post. After having catheter removed and Dr Eid post surgery appointment today, I was told to cycle twice daily for 15 minutes. I was able to inflate and deflate in his office without too much pain (although there was d...

Re: Implant 9/29/23 - Dr. Eid

So just had my followup appointment with Dr Eid. I hadnt fully seen my penis since before the operation. There wasnt that much swelling and the incision looked fine (per Dr Eid and me). Dr. Eid pumped me to maybe 80% before the pain was too much. The pump made an audible squeaking noise which seemed...

Re: Implant 9/29/23 - Dr. Eid

No, Eid doesnt use a drain, only a catheter (for 3 days). Ive actually gotten used to since it was inserted but I am happy to have it taken out tomorrow.

Re: Implant 9/29/23 - Dr. Eid

Yes, I communicated through Ruby, mostly by email. I think the office is very busy so she responds to emails irregularly but does respond especially once the surgery is scheduled. I think Dr Eid got sick this year/last year and took a few months off. In that time a backlog of prospective implantees ...

Re: Implant 9/29/23 - Dr. Eid

Hi Stewy. I think it was a couple months ago that I confirmed that I would get surgery to when surgery happened. However they offered an earlier date but I couldnt do it until 9/29. Im sorry to hear about your multiple surgeries in so short a time. I really hope this my only surgery for at least 10 ...

Re: Implant 9/29/23 - Dr. Eid

About the sleep, whenever Ive been sick (very rare) or had a some injury (also very rare but e.g. broken ankle) Ive not been able to sleep much. Same with drinking or painkillers which Ive very rarely taken - they dont help me to sleep but keep me up whereas with coffee which I drink twice daily, Im...

Re: Implant 9/29/23 - Dr. Eid

It was a long night as I wasnt able to sleep but did just get in a few hours of sleep just now. Oddly I think the opiate (percocet) kept me up as the pain wasnt inbearable and I dont have insomnia. Eid currently recommends complete bedrest (aside from three 15 minute walks) for the first 2 days post...

Re: Implant 9/29/23 - Dr. Eid

Surgery was scheduled for 730, but I had to arrive at 530am. I ended up leaving the hospital at around 330pm. Most of that time was not in the surgery room. I think I was in surgery for an hour but Im not sure After surgery many hours are spent in the recovery room. The nurses have to make sure rega...
