It seems that I am developing arthritis in both of my hands, especially in my thumbs. I can't fully pump up my implant without starting and stopping, then starting again after a few minutes. I've been thinking about how to adapt some channel locks or another type of tool to help me squeeze the pump....

You don't mention the make of the implant that your Dr does. But call their area rep and they should be able to help. Mine was billed as medically necessary.
