Re: Simply cannot pump today
These are all signs of a sticky pump. The devices are made tight to last a long time. So with the tight tolerances every so often you will get one that is on the bit over tight side of things. Heat is the best help for this. I used a heating pad for my sticky pump and it worked great. I had the heat...

How your implant have been working? I'm wery interested to hear good and bad things.... Over 6 years on mine and it still works. That is, it inflates and deflates. I have all the original parts. Not a perfect install and a perforation repair. But the device is still working. I had a sticky pump tha...

Re: Anyone have luck getting independent insurance
Not really the exact deal you are talking about, but I did buy my own health insurance and I will explain to you why it is best to just save up the money or take out a loan for the surgery. I live in a low population state and insurance has run health care here for many years. The insurance companie...

Re: Hello after 4 months of implantation i can go to dentist ;
I was the same as some of the other posts. I have permanent metal staples in my left foot. For several years after they were placed, I was required to take antibiotics before a cleaning. This was back before they started cutting back on prescribing so many antibiotics. My IPP surgery was after they ...

Re: Medicare vs Private Insurance
I had both of my surgeries done with self purchased insurance. My insurance was an EPO plan. Basically insurance covered it (well some of it) and they told me who I had to go to for it. Same with anything else I had trouble with. In other words Insurance controlled my medical care. I decided to self...

Re: Is over 200 a year considered a high vollume implant surgeon?
If I ever had an implant it would be through Dr David Ralph in London, and he implants over 200 a year. Is this considered a high volume implanter? Thanks, I think this has been lost with recent posts. The things is you do not need a doctor that does 200, 300, or more a year. The doctors doing thos...

Re: Questions to ask DR
Thanks all for your replies, couldn't get back here yesterday to see where things went but do appreciate all of the feedback. I agree, I really wanted this thread to be about questions to discuss with my doc, not opinions on various methods or models. I do appreciate those comments also, so maybe o...
