Re: Insurance will not cover implants

Anyone (needhelp & drjeep) have any updates? I am in the exact same situation regarding being denied because its not "gender dysmoprhia". Not sure what my first step should be. Going to see if Coloplast has some type of team that can help out. And ready to file an appeal. What insuran...

Re: Who around you knows about your Implant or ED?

My sons both know but are uncomfortable talking about it. My brother and I have talked about it in length. As have I with my mother. My sister knows but we have not talked about it. Two close friend I have out of state know but really are uncomfortable talking about it. I tell my girl friends about ...

Re: What does "RTE" mean?

There was a thread on acronym's somewhere. Maybe in the general section. RTE stands for rear tip extenders. The surgeon uses them to properly size the implant. As the implant cylinders them selves come in few sizes. My LGX is available in 12, 15, 18, and 21 cm lengths. So if your are 13, 14, 16, 17,...

Re: For my curiosity...why is natural erection no longer possible after implant ?

The cylinders of the implant displace tissue that are cells that when filled with blood make an erection possible. Like little sacks that that when filled increase in size. The process involves increased blood flow into the penis and reduced blood flow out. So the tissue that make an erection possib...

Re: Any of you have procedure far from home alone ?

I did mine alone. Really wish I would have had someone with me for this. I few 1/2 way across the US for mine. Others have done this alone as well. Having someone to help getting ice packs and meals would be a great help and let you stay less active and heal for the days after the surgery is a plus....

Re: How many of you traveled out of state to get the implant?

Just curious if you did, did it cost more out of pocket for you? How much more? My urologist in my town (250k) does and will do it, but I dont think he does more than 30 a year. It makes me wonder if I should go to Eid or someone else... but if I did would it cost me way more because its out of net...

Re: How often do PPO’s deny the implant procedure?

Thank you so much guys ! Question: Why did it matter if the doctor was not in network? I had just figured I'd pay the out of network rate for my doctor (since the doctor its such an important part of the equation). No individual purchased health care plan I found last 2 years in KS had any out of n...

Re: How often do PPO’s deny the implant procedure?

I have BCBS gold plan that I buy from BCBS and is the same plan as listed on the Obama care program for my state. Each state is different a bit. My policy is the same in that it is covered but must have prior approval. It is only covered in my home area for BCBS in Kansas so the insurance company li...

Re: Implant leaning to one side

My whole life I was straight. No lean one way or the other. After my implant I lean to the left. If can be seen in the video in my signature. I am over 14 months post op and it has not changed one bit. When pumped up it strongly points left and just a bit when deflated. At least now I can have an er...

Re: prostate survivor and leaking now

I have mild leeks also and wear pouch under ware. I have been using toilet paper. 4 sheets make M and I make a flat 4 thick sheet and fold it in half then wrap top over the end and bottom and tuck into the separate penis pouch. That way I can change the damp tp for dry wherever I go. I have thought ...
