Re: Defective pump revision by dr Andrew Kramer with video, nov 7,2019

Thanks for posting, I just watched the video. It's a relief to see how easy it was to replace just the pump, that's the component that I worry about failing. It looks like he replaced a Genesis pump with another Genesis pump. Did he comment on the Genesis pump compared to the newer Touch pump? And d...

Re: Coloplast Titan pump and other questions

He did say he likes to use the genesis pump in place of the one touch. Any comments on this? The latest model pump is the "Touch", both the Genesis (Release Bar Pump) and One Touch (OTR) are older but maybe still available. You might ask the doctor if you can look at and feel all three pu...

Re: Insurance said I was covered

Dr Eid has operating privileges at several hospitals including the out-patient surgical center by his office. Ask about using another hospital. Also ask if staying overnight in the hospital would change the situation.

Re: RTE chat.... curious if they are absolutely necessary

I think I recall it being said that you can cut a length off the proximal plastic 'bit' of the implant itself. Yes, Eid did mine that way, he trimmed a 22cm kit to make 20 & 21cm cylinders. There's a 5cm rear tip on the implant that can be trimmed to customize the fit. Assuming the surgeon is a...

Re: My implant cylinders are not the same length?

While touching my gland today I noticed the tips of my two cylinders are not the same length, have any of you experience the same issue? Is this a problem? Probably too soon to evaluate length based just on feel, wait until a few weeks after you are activated and cycling. Another possibility is the...

Re: PSA Doubled In A Year

Do any of you guys who've gone through this find any fault with my decision? A very rapid rise in PSA like you had is often (usually?) due to a prostate infection or prostatitis. The usual course of action is a round of antibiotics and then retest the PSA. Remember the PSA test isn't a test for pro...

Re: Where to go to obtain clarification of an unusual problem?

What would you do to find out what caused this condition? That's a difficult situation. If it was me, I'd start locally and work up from there. Go to your GP first and get his opinion. If he can't help then ask him for a referral to a local urologist (or a dermatologist). The urologist might have s...

Re: Dr. Kramer

The good thing about his move is he'll be able to do surgery 2 days a week. I believe he was limited to one day a week at UM. Kramer is indeed a great doc. One of the best (like Eid). Anybody know what Dr Kramer does the other 3 days of the week, is he a professor at UM? I came to believe that Eid ...
