Re: fat to skinny

95% certain it is a leaky valve. 5% a leak in the system. The difference being where the saline solution (your hydraulic fluid) is going. If the valve, the fluid is returning to the reservoir. If an external leak (connector, tubing or the inflatable tubes), you will find eventually that you cannot p...

Re: Shape metal alloy implant

Thanks for going to the effort to copy/paste the text of the article,dw_william. The final temperature reached by the prosthesis at maximum force was 42 °C (108 °F). Kind of brings a new meaning to the phrase "hot rod". What I did not find in the article or the videos on the web site is an...

Re: LeLuv Pump

I am not sure what 5 lbs represents or how it relates to lunches of mercury. Both are measures of fluid pressure. In this case, the fluid is air and the pressure is negative pressure (specifically, how much the air pressure inside your cylinder is lower than the air pressure outside your cylinder)....

Re: I am 63 Panhead

Sorry to hear of your troubles. Happy about the Coloplast success. Having replacement parts/repairs on cars go bad is one thing, but body parts? Are you willing to share details of what made the AMS device unsatisfactory? Was it the device itself or improper sizing or a surgical judgement (sizing, p...

Re: Why are there two RTEs?

you have to (I think) take a look at some very clear surgical videos (kramer is the obvious choice since he's got like 200 high def vids) of how it's done. there's 2 separate channels, that diverge as you go in deeper, and it's blind when you go way up and way down. No way to try to fuse two separa...

Is a malleable somtimes a better choice?

A few things the semi-rigid/malleable implant have going for it over the inflatable seem to be: 1) longer service life (though I have not found any testimonials, there are many more modes of failure of the inflatable design over the malleable.semi-rigid). Many failures have to do with tubes, connect...

Re: Shape metal alloy implant

Interesting. The article did not appear to mention if this device will prevent one from having MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging). And what about the TSA? Still, a simpler device, even if it takes an external device (and electric power) to activate (and deactivate?) is intriguing. Thanks for bringing ...

Re: Why are there two RTEs?

Have you actually watched an implant surgery? There is no possible way you could implant two cylinders joined by one rear tip extender. There are two separate cavities in a penis, the corpus cavernosa, and they remain separated from the tip of the penis all the way to the ends in the abdominal cavi...

Why are there two RTEs?

Why are there two rear tip extenders (RTEs)? I note that some implants for FTM transgenders have the prosthesis actually attached to the pelvic bone and is a single piece. Might guess because certain tissue structures are different from men and (former) women. But if there are no anatomical structur...
