Re: Low libido
OK, after a month on Androderm I had my T tested again. Before starting on Androderm my level was reported at 238. After a month the level is now reported at 130 ( :o ). I am not noticing much change in how I feel (energy, mood, libido), but I'm guessing that one of these readings is incorrect. I'v...

Re: Low libido
How low is low. My lab considers 241 to be at the bottom of the normal range, but that includes some older guys. I am 72 and my T was at 291 and my Endo considered it normal for my age. Perhaps some others can advise on foods and supplements to raise T naturally or advise on other causes for low li...

Sense of humor
No sex here (me for health reasons, wife lost interest post menopause), but sense of humor abides. I told my wife I had queued up a new British drama series called "Happy Valley" on Netflix. She said, "You haven't visited Happy Valley in years!"

Re: Post Op so far
Your experience sounds much like mine (2008). I can't say enough about Dr. Kramer - he is truly a great guy. Since I live about 30 minutes from UMMC, thankfully I didn't have to do the flight/hotel thing, but even if it had been necessary for me to travel it would have been well worth it. Congrats a...

Re: Scheduled but have a question
IMO, the pump is worse than no option at all. Before I got my implant in 2008 we tried everything, including the pump. You are correct about the lack of spontaneity and the clumsiness, but in addition to that my wife hated the thing. She said it felt like a polish sausage cold from the fridge and af...

You're by no means the only Aussie on FT, plus a couple of Kiwi's as well. I don't recall any of their implant status, though.

Re: Decision process for surgeon
I am fortunate enough to live 30 minutes away from one of the best implant surgeons in the country - Andrew Kramer at U of MD Medical Center in Baltimore. I had a consultation with him and also spoke with one of his recent patients and knew that he was the surgeon for me. Ask your uro or PCP for a r...

Re: What to tell my employer & colleagues re the time off work?
Interesting question - normally I'm very private about personal matters, but in this case I decided to go "full disclosure." I'm an ER RN, so all of my coworkers are either docs, nurses or techs. When I was diagnosed with prostate cancer, I managed to tell no one except my boss until I to...
