tough pushing needle in

Postby keysdude » Sat Nov 25, 2017 8:21 pm

Lately I've had a tough time pushing the needle into my left side. Seems to go in slightly then I really need to push, then once it gets through that layer it goes in the rest of the way with no extra effort. There's no pain but just hard to push through to get in to the CC. The right side is no problem at all. Goes in nice an easy. Been trying to alternate sides but lately I've run in to this problem. Been injecting for 8 months, very successful.
Any ideas? Thanks guys.

I've been injecting for several years and occasionally have that problem myself. I usually just try another location on the same side or move to the other side. Or vary the angle of needle. I think a lack of perfect consistency in these matters falls under the heading of "Stuff Happens". I would mention it to the urologist on my next visit if I were you, but I wouldn't worry unless it becomes chronic. All the best.

The truth is I have the same problem you do, with the LEFT side!!! Maybe it's because I'm right handed I'm not sure.
One thing that did help but sounds a little strange is that changing from a 30 gauge needle to 29 pierced the tunica much easier and never has the 29 gauge bend like the 30 gauge almost always did. I'm very happy with the 29.

When I have that problem, I give a quick, controlled, thrust and it goes in.
