Has anyone had any trouble getting an erection while pumping?

Just make sure you have SHAVED your pubes ... nice and smooth -- using a good 3 .. 4 .. 5 blade razor.

And first shavings WILL make it red and irritated looking but each shave after will have less irritated effect until after a month or more of faithful shaving it won't irritate anymore (unless you forget to shave for a week -- then you are back to square one irritation again -- so keep the shaving faith!)

RP 2008 ... MUSE 2008-9 .. TriMix Gel 2009 .. Trimix 2009-2015 ... PGE-1 2016-2019 ..Misoprostal 2019 Onward. All worked.

I will propose a different viewpoint on the "nice and smooth" idea.

Four reasons to shave:
1
keep a good airtight seal with the VED cylinder.
2
prevent pulling on hairs as skin stretching occurs (trapping hair under the VED cylinder)
3
preventing hairs getting tangled up with the constriction ring
4
make it easier to grasp the constriction ring for removal

A little lubricant mitigates the first three, especially if you have hairs trimmed to less than half the thickness of the VED cylinder and constriction ring (whichever is less)

Only the hairs in the immediate vicinity of the penis' base need to be trimmed. As you get further away from where the cylinder or constriction ring contacts the skin, the hairs can be longer.

And it bears repeating that a little lube helps the vacuum-tight seal.

Now, if you want to shave (or trim) everywhere completely, there is little downside, but my point is that shaving to the point of irritation has almost no advantage over just trimming very short.

Of course, if you or your partner LIKE "billiard-ball" smoothness, go for it. Some people use a facial-grade hair removal cream rather than to shave.
