Talk to the girls at office. They may have gone through this before, and will be able to provide you with a better strategy. Remember: the worst diligence is the one that is never tried.

Agreed....
Part of my plan.
I will also talk to AETNA... maybe a provision for special surgeries...
I think this qualifies. :)

TT,

Most of your costs for the procedure are deductible as medical expenses on your income tax returns, including travel and hotel costs. You might get some professional tax advice to help your budgeting, it could cost less than you estimated.

I can only say that I am extremely satisfied with my procedure and so thankful that I got to the hands of Dr Eid that is virtuous at his work. Him, his staff and the staff at the surgery center have been humane, kind and exceptional professionals.

Finally, just want to thank you all Frank Talk friends and brothers who have shared your experiences. You are always out there for others. You gave me the courage to go ahead with my procedure.
Thanks to all of you who answered my questions, those who answered my PM’s, those who ask tons of questions from where I got a lot of my answers, and thanks to the one who took the time to call me from the other side of the world and spend one hour in the phone with me helping with my concerns.

I want to give back to all of you who are doing your research or who are in doubt. Feel free to PM me. You can also write to me in Spanish or French if you need to.

I will update you in this thread when I have news!

James

Congrats on your great surgery and recovery. It was my pleasure to spend that hour on the phone with you. I was just killing time at a shitty airport in Asia anyway! I knew you would get great results and be happy with them after talking to you. You just had the right mindset, asked the right questions, had the right worries and the right non-worries. Plus of course, you picked the right doc. Your recovery was just amazing.
All the best to you, make good use of Eid's work!
And, even though your recovery has been super fast so far, just remember you are still nowhere near the end result. It will still change a lot, and only to the better. Most of all your flaccid will improve over time. But your erection will as well. You will be able to pump it more and more, and you will be able to have sex with a harder and harder dick without discomfort. You will improve your inflation and deflation skills. You will find ways to work the implant rules to your maximum favour and minimum drawback. And maybe most important, you will get used to it, till the point where you learn to enjoy it to the maximum. The mental acclimatisation is just as important as the physical.
Just let it take the time it needs and enjoy.

Finally just one single, simple advice. Keep your dick pointing up as long and as often as you can. Never force bend it down in your clothes. Don't start to wear it pointing down in your tight underwear till you can do so with no discomfort whatsoever.
This is apparently not an advice all docs give. Some do. But it is an advice I give based on my own experience, and a rule I will follow to the extreme next time I go under the knife.

Hey merrix!

Thanks for your advise and words. I will be patient to go through this process as smooth as posible.

What about keeping it pointing upwards. The most comfortable for me is sidewise, never liked it pointing down and I don’t think I will do it now either. Do you think it would really make a diference in the final erection angle?

Tomorrow I will update you guys with my 2 week mark!

2 WEEK MARK

Hey guys,
It has been a little over 2 weeks now. All going great and I am happy. Here my experience in these days (long post ahead) split by topics not necessarily following any order.

AT WORK

I went back to work at the 11th day post-op. I have not experienced any problem. I work in an office sitting all day and a also I do other activities that require me to be standing up, walking and climbing stairs.
The first day I was uncomfortable on the chair because of the pump but some days later I realized that it was more the concern of seating on the pump than actual pain

I wear a suit at the office, so pants are slim and fabric is thin. I have not had any issues with the bulge. In fact, nothing can be seen. So, for those of you worrying too much about this I can say that it is not a problem at all (at least not to me).
It is funny because there are a few guys at the office that carry a very noticeable package in their pants and never once I thought it was weird so I don’t see why we should be worried of people seeing anything. All men have different sizes, some are bigger than others.

Because I was changing positions a lot in my chair to avoid sitting on the pump, I told some of my colleagues that I hurt my lower back during sport and I am a bit uncomfortable. No suspicion or questions asked!

PHYSICAL

This has been a challenging week. The pain is not excruciating; it is more of a mild dull constant ache that can be really annoying. Sometimes it is stronger and sometimes I forget about it but it is there for a big part of the day.

I have always worn briefs so I didn’t need to change underwear style after the surgery, my briefs hold everything in place. I have tried to keep my dick upwards but it is the least comfortable position, so I keep it between 2 and 10 during the day.
I would not be able to force it downwards and neither would I like to do this. I’ve never did it before surgery anyway.

From time to time I get this burning on my urethra (at the tip) that it is on and off. Sometimes it is after urinating and sometimes just out of nowhere. I assume it has to do with the hard tips sitting on the glans and the surrounding tissue getting used to it.
Also, my urinating stream is weaker, this seems to be improving day by day.
My doctor told me all this is normal and it will improve with time.

I don’t have pain in the scrotum just some burning on the side where the deflation valve sits. I guess it is related to the constant rubbing of the skin there.

I have to mention that the first couple of times I jacked off, I paid the price with more pain during the day or the morning after…

CYCLING

I have been cycling as instructed 2 times a day for 30 minutes each time.
This is something I love and hate. Love it because it is so great to have a hard dick that gets up and down on command! I hate it because it is so painful to do it.
Pressing on the pump is getting less and less painful but the scrotum does not like to being pinched against the ridges of the pump.

I have noticed that depending on the day I can pump more or less. I am moving between 17 and 23 pumps so far. Not sure if this related to the way I pump (usually wall to wall) or due to healing or to any other variable.

After 18 pumps I am in pain in the tip, shaft and even in the perineum. It is really a challenge to endure those 30 minutes. Everybody seems to agree that this is the way to keep/increase your size and to expand to max the pseudo capsule forming around the cylinders so that’s the way to go.

Deflating is easy but the skin on my scrotum hates the pinching. I have the “touch” version of the pump and so far this “one touch release” is not a reality for me. If I press on the deflate button once, the penis will just let a bit of the fluid out but will not go down on its own as I have seen on videos. If I press a second time strongly, I can compress my dick taking out all fluid. After that, I give a squeeze to the pump to block the mechanism. I don’t have autoinflation or anything as such during the day. But as mentioned before blood comes back to the penis and fills it up. Still bendable, no problem to tuck it in my underwear.

After 2 weeks the flaccid state starts to feel softer already. It still looks like an erection pointing at 3 o’clock when I take it out of my underwear but It is easy to make it stay at 5 o’clock by just bending it a little while I'm naked.
I have seen and read so much concern about this. To me it is really not a problem. And I am sure it will be even better with time so… something less to worry about.

SHAPE AND LOOKS

Yes, it is true! The dick is oval shaped hahaha. I was not quite understanding what this meant before the surgery but now I do. On the flaccid state all looks perfectly normal even if like a semi. But on the hard state, specially if I’m not aroused, the dick looks wide but flat. I cannot say how much so because it is something I never paid attention to before the surgery but it sure does look and feel flat.

These days I was concerned about glans/shaft engorgement. My glans swells when I'm aroused and it requires constant stimulation just like before the surgery. I got a bit down thinking that I might need to wear a cock ring specially after going through the surgery. But, after giving it a try with some porn, I realized that it fills up just fine and that it will stay engorged as long as I am stimulated/horny. I am still not getting much engorgement at the underside of my shaft. I do not know whether this related to the compression applied by the cylinders blocking circulation, the pain, the healing process or because this is the way it will be from now on.
This matters because of girth. I mentioned before that my girth increased after the surgery. This is because looking from the top my dick is definitely wider but due to the less round and more flat new, when measured, it is the same as before surgery.
I hope that in time it will round up more, and more blood will be “trapped” in the spongiosum during sex.

In any case, I am happy with the result: when hard and aroused, it still looks like my old self but very hard and less round. Exactly what my doctor promised!

In regards to looks, the flaccid state, although somewhat hard and large, can perfectly pass for a normal dick that is big and points. I am sure I will not have any issues at the gym or anywhere else. The pump cannot be seen at all. It is right behind the testicles.
I know I am in a different country and things might be different here but, when I was on a daily PDE5-I regimen, my dick was very “full” when flaccid, very similar to what I have now. I never felt embarrassed while being naked at the showers or the locker room… in fact the opposite!

My angle remains at 2:30/3:00. I am not sure if it is really possible to improve this. There are so many discussions on this subject. As I said I cannot keep my penis pointing upwards because it is too uncomfortable but I am not puttiing downwards either. Only time will tell.

2 (women) friends have seen and even touched my dick and the only comment I had was that it feels very natural and that they would love to ride it!

PSYCHOLOGY 101

I guess because I read so many stories of you guys and investigated so much before getting my implant, I was somehow prepared on what to expect. I even imagined how I would feel. I recommend this to all you planning on getting the surgery. Try to imagine what your life will be with this and while reading the stories of others try to see yourself in that situation.

I have noticed that I am feeling more confident and I am trying to push this even further. I have not been out in bars or anything like that yet but I am sure this will be better than before surgery. Before I didn’t want to go talk to people because what is the point of flirting when you cannot perform in bed.

By no means think that the implant will change who you are, it will only give you the possibility to fuck on demand any time you get a chance. BUT, you are still you. You have to work on your looks, your body, your self-confidence or whatever makes you attractive to others! And of course you have to find a sex partner willing to have sex with you.

For those who are terrified of the surgery and doubtful, here something someone said to me that helped me a lot on my decision: “You cannot get it hard enough and no other treatment works for you. What can you loose with the implant? In the worst case scenario if it does not work or you don’t like it, you will be back to where you are right now” Obviously have to be certain that the implant is the ONLY and right option for you. This makes the decision way easier.

Something I said to my self many times on the months before the surgery was: “there will be days when you will freak out, you will have doubts and you will regret” I prepared my self also for this. I have it very clear that all will improve and be easier with time.

So far I had only one day when the fact of not getting engorged enough, maybe having to wear a cock ring, plus the constant dull pain, plus feeling not big enough, plus the flat shape… plus, plus, plus and plus life, work and myself sent me right to depression. Fortunately, it didn’t last long but I know this might show up from time to time while I heal and while I understand and get used to the new me. As merrix said, this not only a physical change but also a powerful mental one that probably takes even longer to heal.
I.e. Yesterday I discovered myself rushing to the mirror to look at my dick before “I loose my erection” this conditioning has been with me for so long that it will take a while to get used to the new dick that doesn't go limp and neither bends during sex.

Having a dick that is hard-ish all the time is making me suffer: I am horny all day long! In my brain there has always been the link between engorgement and being horny. So feeling this semi hard penis down there makes me want to masturbate at all times. And of course makes me think of sex all the time. I have been cleared to have sex at the 3-week mark but I think I might wait a little longer because it might be too painful.

I am single and just like so many of you single guys, my biggest concern right now is how am I going to hook up with someone and explain the situation. I am sure I will go for the highly discussed in here: “I had surgery in my balls but it is all fine now”.

Something that I was concerned about before but it is a big relief now is that you can actually pump to a degree where you dick is hard enough for foreplay but bendable enough to keep it inside your jeans. So for me, that will be the way to go. Flirt, get it a bit hard, make out, excuse myself to the bathroom, pump to full and have sex.

FOR THE CURIOUS

For those of you concerned about what to say to colleagues, family and others. It has been very simple to me. In professional environments I said I had a hernia repaired.
for friends seeing me taking it easy while sitting/moving I said I hurt my lower back doing sports. And to those asking why going to NY for surgery I said there was a long waiting list to get the surgery done here (for the hernia) and that the doctor in NY was an acquaintance of the family. Because I do a lot of sport I was not willing to wait that long.

james (and other single guys):

"my biggest concern right now is how am I going to hook up with someone and explain the situation"

I have tested a few explanations, and one that seems to be most readily received is this:
"I have had a SURGICAL ENHANCEMENT that allows me to keep an erection for as long as I want. even hours or days. if you'd like to find out if your multi-orgasmic, I can certainly help!"
updated: 70 y.o., implanted with titan nov. 3 by Dr. Brady in orlando to correct peyronies. 20 cm with 3 cm RTEs. due to the severity of the peyronies, some internal excisions were made scrotally, recovery will probably take a little longer.

I love it. :D There is no way you can hide it for ever if you hook up with someone forever, so you might as well get it out of the way right off the bat. :)

James,
Great post and update. Happy to hear you are doing so well.

Greg
I am 64 and had ED from a VL. Implanted by Dr. Ronald Anglade in Atlanta on 9/18/17. I have an AMS700LGX 21 cm via a Penoscrotal incision. Very happy with results. 6" soft and 6 3/4” x 5 5/8” hard.
