Infection - Titan

Postby CDN1931 » Sun Mar 25, 2018 11:20 am

Had my surgery done about month and a half ago . Surgery lasted for more than 6 hours resulting in infection . Going for surgery again to replace the implant with malleable device . Can anyone share their experience with semi rigid implant ? Doctor was saying that most patients like the the semi rigid device and don’t want to go back to 3 piece . Any comments?

That is something I wish no one would ever have to go through. I wish you all the best going forward with this.

I just had my surgery. I have read there are folks who like the malleable. But the 3 piece IPP is the most popular.

Take care and I hope for nothing but good things for you.
Injections failed. Implanted 3-21-18 AMS 700 LGX 21 + 1 RTE 100 cc reservoir 6.5" L 5" G Dr. Kramer.

On the "Pro" side

The malleable is recommended for men who are unable to pump up the bulb on an inflatable.
(Arthritis, or injury to the hands, etc).

Insertion and removal is an easier surgery, so when a malleable is used as a "placeholder" for a revision, it is the method of choice.

On the "Con" side:

Malleables have a higher risk of erosion (essentially, the distal tops poking out through the end of your penis), so sizing is extremely critical.

Stowage is more difficult, since the volume of the penis is constant, tucking the penis away without a noticeable bulge is sometimes problematic.

Deployment for urination, might be more difficult as the implant is always stiff (whether curled up or straight it always tries to maintain whatever shape is is in.

My AMS 700 CX keeps my dick semi rigid. Remember there's an Implant inside. I can't imagine what a malleable dick would be like. Plus I like watching mine grow.

I am curious where your doctor is getting his information that the malleable implant is what most guys want. From everything I have read here and other places, the 3-piece seems far more common. My surgeon advised against the malleable, telling me the constant pressure pushing agains the glans can cause trouble. As someone else mentioned, guys with arthritis or anyone with dexterity issues would probably like it for its ease.

Also, keep in mind those of us with the 3-piece get more the effect of a natural erection as the cylinders fill up. Although your penis would constantly be at its full length, it seems you would lose girth do to no inflation.

Greg,
You are so right. I love pumping up my penis. It's more like a natural erection. Unlike a natural erection, this one goes down when I say so!!! Why would any Dr. make a statement like that?

6 hours is a long time. To say that most ppl like malleable over 3 piece is bs. I’d get a second and or third opinion.
