Exercising aka deadlifts & weighted squats

I'll ask my doctor on Monday but I would like to start cranking on the plates again!

I usually warmup with 135lbs for my squats & deadlifts.
Then raise it for my 4x6
Clearly A LOT more than the 15lbs lifting restriction I had for the first month post op...

When did you get back to your normal heavy weightlifting??
3 months? 2 months? 6 months?

Cheers

Something I am very interested in also. Is it even possible to sit on machines or bike seats?

I'd set in here as well. I'd like to read more posts from active young guys having implants and having a vigorous lifestyle... (soccer, contact sports, crossfit etc...)

Hey man, I lift heavy as well. It took eight weeks before I could start piling on the plates again and also running the mileage I wanted. The key is to listen to your body. When I tried at six weeks I felt it in my abdominal area by the reservoir. Not bad pain, but a pinching burn that just didn’t feel natural. I stopped immediately and tried again at 7 1/2 weeks. Started light and felt good. Built up my weights and into my week eight routine I was adding weight with confidence. Good luck, you’ll be awesome and you don’t lose that much with the time off!

Sweet thanks for the input!

I'll check with my doc to be sure and try light at first if he gives the green light.

I'll update this thread with what he says.

Cheers

I am an old man compared to all of you guys following this post, but just wanted to say I started using the circuit training machines (no free weights) at my gym at about 8 weeks and just eased back into it. Of course at 62 I have Arthritis, Tennis Elbow, and all of the crap that comes with age so I am not lifting anywhere near what you studs are. Anyway, no problems.

Thanks for the input Greg!

I did email my "care team" and was told that 6 weeks is when I could expect to start working out again.
Of course taking it easy is key.
8 weeks sounds like a reasonable time to attempt going harder.

My 6 week milestone is TOMORROW! 8-)
