Implant feels like a skeleton.

Postby cowboybob » Wed Jan 03, 2018 5:35 pm

I am 4 1/2 weeks post surgery from getting my three piece inflatable Penile implant, and when I feel my shaft I have noticed something. The cylinders that I inflate seem to be surrounded by a hard frame. I can feel the frame for about a 1 1/2 inch length toward the head of my penis, and for about one inch toward the base. This means that when I am in deflation mode, the cylinders appropriately are flaccid but the frame remains so that I am always at least semi-rigid. Anyone know anything about this? Is it just the brand maybe?

Bob,
The tips of the cylinders that fit up in your glans are much a firmer than the middles of the cylinders. The base is also firmer, but you may also have rear tip extenders which are not a part of the softer, flexible cylinders.

I am 64 and had ED from a VL. Implanted by Dr. Ronald Anglade in Atlanta on 9/18/17. I have an AMS700LGX 21 cm via a Penoscrotal incision. Very happy with results. 6" soft and 6 3/4” x 5 5/8” hard.

The distal tips of all inflatable implants are made of a non-inflatable material. It is hard and if you press on the tip of your penis, you can probably feel them. Mine feel much like a pair of blunt knitting needles

The proximal end of implants are likewise made of non-inflatable, soild material.

Only the mid-section of the implant is inflatable and soft and bendable when uninflated.

Have you been able to handle a (sample) implant outside of a penis? Have you seen pictures?

Bob, what brand of implant do you have and what size? The surgical report probably has the size and RTE info. Be good to add that to your signature too.

Was it implanted via penoscrotal, or via infrapubic method?

Wow, I never knew. Lost Sheep, they did give me a sample of the pump mechanism to practice with and that was helpful. Warren, the brand and size were not listed on the papers they gave me. Plumber, the surgeon went in through my scrotum.

Don't take the skeleton metaphor too far. For instance, I wouldn't recommend scaring children with it at halloween.

Scaring children. Whoa! It will hence be called the chamber of secrets.
