Implant Surgery Scheduled February 6th!!!

Postby jackhammerdreamz » Mon Nov 13, 2017 7:19 pm

It's still surreal!

I'm not super nervous about the surgery.
I'm ready to have a dick that works 100% of the time.

Confidence level will be back to where it should be.
Quality of life will be bumped up.

Seriously being in an awesome relationship other than the sex, makes ED even more glaringly frustrating.
Ready for that to be taken out of the equation!

Pre-Op physical assessment 2 weeks before the surgery with the surgeon's team.
I'll get info from the anesthesiologist at that appointment because I have to be sure they are in my BCBS network.

Then surgery 11:30am February 6th, an overnight stay in their recovery suites, then a follow-up appointment 2 weeks later.

Just need to figure out what to tell family and what to tell work
Expecting to take at least a week (if not two) off work.

I'm ready to join the bionic brotherhood!!!

So happy for you. Congratulations, put this all behind you. Ultimately I think adapting to implanted life is better than suffering from ED. Best of luck on your surgery! What do you think you're going to get? AMS or Titan?

What does your girlfriend think, is she phased at all? Optimistic/indifferent/excited/skeptical/freaking out? How much does she know about the implant? Curious because I feel the same way, having a great relationship really highlights your dick problem. I feel like I want to be perfect for her and I wonder what she would think.

I've read others have mentioned hernia surgery. You could "get a hernia" a month before surgery and then claim you have to have the surgery on Feb 6th. Maybe research that?

Peyronie's: 6 months, indents cause loss of 0.5 inches of girth, fibrosis growing, caused ED.
ED: 10mg Cialis daily, getting headaches, not interested in VED/injections.
Considering implant to avoid a lifetime of cialis and to correct deformity.

Haha yea the idea would be to stay out of work for 2 weeks, to hopefully be walking normally by then and tell them it was a sensitive surgery and leave it at that.
Only one I would have to tell in advance would be my VP and she's cool.
Hernia near pelvic bone perhaps, or say it was something more "sinister" or personal I don't want to talk about... people don't push if you say it's something serious.
My co-workers are a tight knit and respectful bunch. They wouldn't ask questions.

Well I was a bit nervous to say I really wanted to do this. We talked about the idea more as an abstract concept previously.
I brought it up tonight by saying, "I got some interesting news today... How would you like to have sex with me and orgasm every day?"
She smiled a bit confused and said what news did you get?
I told her I had my surgeon's pre-auth specialist talk to my insurance about coverage and that it had come back covered with his analysis and my history being enough to warrant the implant.
She asked when I saw a surgeon, which I explained was the urologist I saw earlier this month.
She asked about possible complications I told her about the floppy glan issue but explained that it is usually a bad surgeon that causes that or improper sizing of the implant.
Along with a considerable healing process which I'm not averse to. I'm good at laying in bed a lot and have a good pain threshold.
It won't be fun but I'll be able to get through it.... AND the fact that I'm in a good surgeon's hands and that I'm relatively young bodes well in my favor for healing faster.
She asked about sensitivity loss and I explained I could still cum and orgasm, and would most likely not lose any feeling.
She has some reservations, she likes my dick... But I know that over time it would only get worse and would strain the relationship.
I explained I may lose a little length but most likely gain some girth to which her eyes lit up.
She asked to get information on the surgery and this forum and anything else I've been reading so she can understand it more and put to rest any fears or questions she has.
My more overarching worry was that she wouldn't want to fuck me if I had an implant, but the fact that it's still me just with some assistance, makes sense to her and she doesn't feel like that would be a problem. There was no repulsion of the idea, just concern for my well-being.

At the end of the day she knows and respects that this would be my decision ultimately and backs me up.
As with most things, she's more cautious and would hold off, whereas I have done the research and am ready to move into a new chapter of crazy sex to round out our fantastic relationship.

I just told my friends and co-workers that I was having "urological surgery" and no one wanted to know the details. :)
Baltimore area. Age 68. Prostatectomy in 2000, CX inserted in 2002. It wore out after 12 yrs., got LGX in 2014. I am glad I had them both. My great urologist is Dr. Marc Siegelbaum. (After some time of regular inflating I regained my original length.)

Yeah, that's what I said too but I have to wonder what they are thinking and what they are telling others. There were a few on here that said hernia surgery and because that is much more detailed, that ended the conversation. "Urological surgery" at least isn't lying, but really, it's not their business. :)

Glad the surgery is relatively simple as in it doesn't involve a long hospital stay.
My surgeon does have you stay overnight w/ catheter and partially inflated.
The pain I imagine I'll feel partially inflated oof! but I'm ready!

More about discussion with GF. I made it all positive, and wasn't shy about how it will benefit both of us. I'll feel in control of my sexuality and be able to initiate when I want(whereas before it was initiate quickly before the erection goes away), and she'll finally have a sexual partner who can match her appetite and give her the orgasms she deserves!
She is mostly concerned about surgery problems as there's always risk of complications AND about the costs which I double checked with my insurance today. Got a confirmation number on the "surgeon submitted request for approval needs, and insurance confirmed no referral or prior auth needed". She also was honest today and said she was worried it would always feel the same and my dick wouldn't be as hard. I assured her the implant can get as hard if not harder than the real thing; and that it can be pumped to varying degrees of hardness so there CAN be variation and consistent hardness. Which she was happy to hear. I sent her the forum threads regarding women's thoughts and perspectives which I think was important. She's getting as excited as I am about this!

Honestly her being supportive was a huge weight lifted and makes me very happy.

I am 8 days post-op. Immediately post-op it felt like a bee stung the end of my penis, inflated about 75%. Later, it began feeling like the end of my penis was caught in a vice.

Mr Dr deflated me to about 55% and I felt better.

From my reading, I figure I had less ache and pain than 70% of implanted men.

What I am saying is, be prepared to ache for a while. Also, take home the plastic urinal they will give you at the hospital. It will be useful. Getting out of bed will be difficult because your torso muscles will be bruised.

Good luck
