Wish you implanted earlier?

Postby geophd » Mon Oct 16, 2017 4:19 pm

Hey guys, I've been reading around on here for a while and there are so many different stories. However, there are some common themes. One of those themes is a significant amount of satisfaction with their implant. Life changing satisfaction. Some men have gone decades dealing with their ED, while some men have been implanted 1-3 years after the onset. Of course, severity of ED ranges and the efficacy of treatment ranges too. However, I'm wondering how you all feel about when you pulled the trigger. When you think back, knowing what you know now having an implant, do you think your sex life over the years would have been better with the implant earlier? Maybe instead of going through cialis/viagra and injections? I'm not saying do you regret anything, of course you all made the best decision you could have at the time. But maybe thinking about this and commenting could help us young unfortunate guys who may have to fight this for decades to come. Think about it in the context of a daily (multi daily) sex life. Hope to hear from you.

geophd,
I definitely wish I had gotten an implant much earlier. I started having ED issues at age 30, so not far off from your current age. I had enjoyed a great sex life and then suddenly started having problems. My first encounter with a urologist was injections. He had me lay back on his exam table and injected me and it got very hard and lasted a long time. So, he decided my problem was in my head. He sent me to a psychologist who determined it was inclusive that I had a problem in my head. When I started injecting at home, they never worked well.

Over the years and seeing various doctors, nobody ever mentioned penile implants as an option for me. I spent years using Viagra, Cialis, and Levitra, as well as Muse suppositories. I was able to get erections and could lay on my back and masturbate to ejaculation, but I could not maintain an erection for sex.

Finally, a different doctor suggested I have a Penile Doppler test done. It showed a severe Venous Leak. It was explained to me that the position of the leak was the reason I could maintain an erection while on my back but not when I turned over. Following that diagnosis, my urologist suggested the implant. Then I ended up having other health issues that sidetracked scheduling surgery.

So, back to your question, the reasons I wish I had the implant much sooner is because I missed out on years of enjoyable sex, I lost confidence with my continued ED, and I lost a lot of penis size from age, long term ED and from Prostrate removal. I was implanted 4 weeks ago today so I have not had sex with my wife yet, but we are eager to take the implant a ride. I have been enjoying jacking off and my orgasms have been very intense, back to my feelings as a teenager.

Best wishes to you.
Greg

I do wish I had my implant years earlier but if I had not tried everything else first I would always wonder. At least I know now there was no option for me to remain a sexual human being.

Geoph
My ED was abrupt as a result of prostate removal at 56 yo. I got false hope from docs even though nerves were spared unilaterally. I dont think i ever had a chance for natural erections. They asked me to wait 2 yrs. against my better judgement i followed doc orders. Then after 2 years there was another 6 mos of planning and scheduling. Should have done the implant at 6 mos. but now i got it going on 5 mos. things are great & i am happy.

No brainer. Yes, before I had the radical prostatectomy. Not being able to ejaculate is a bummer.

I am 3 months post penile implant. At one month I might not have been so sure. At two months, pretty sure. At three months - absolutely I wish I had a bionic dick for the past 20 years.

These are really great you guys! Thank you, keep them coming. Zxylpk makes a good point about always wondering if you don't try everything. It seems to me like only viagra/cialis are feasible daily frequent treatments for erectile dysfunction, injections and VED are great for some but personally I can't imagine them in my sex life. So it comes down to cialis/viagra or implant. Both have side effects or down sides.

Any of you having worse/as good/better sex than they were when hopped up on cialis or viagra (fully torqued that is)?

After living with ED since my late 30's, twenty years ago, I couldn't be happier having had the implant. I'm just sorry for not doing it years ago. For the first time in all these years I feel like a man again. I would recommend it to all and would do it again in a heartbeat. One of the best decisions of my life.
