Re-cap of phase 1
Had the surgery early Weds morning and was home in the early afternoon......anesthesia wore off and pain & discomfort set in......not unbearable or excruciating but enough to warrant taking the pain meds.....I took the pills every 5 hours for the remainder of the day, evening, and early morning hours.......
Thurs morning I felt much better....pain decrease in the scrotum by 60% and discomfort due to the catheter also way down.....I took 1 pain pill at 9:30 am and that was the last pill that I took......by late Thursday afternoon no more scrotal pain, but some itching that I took as a good sign.....catheter discomfort way down also but still a bit on the annoying side.....also received a follow up call from Dr. Eid's office to find out how I was and if I had any questions or concerns about anything.....
Friday morning I woke up and felt almost normal.....no pain, very little discomfort, but more itching.....it's late Friday night as I'm typing this and all is good....
Tomorrow, Saturday, the catheter comes out (very happy about that) bandages to be removed, and hot baths to begin.....
All & all I'm very pleased with my recovery during the initial "pain stage".....I know that I have a ways to go and anything can happen but I'm taking my time and going by the book to lessen the possibility......
On to the next phase.......
