After implant penis gets extremely cold

Postby shadowwolfe » Sun Aug 03, 2014 11:51 am

I've notice that even though I seem to swell when excited, that the lack of continual blood flow makes my penis feel like it's freezing at times. It is almost ice cold when I touch it, almost blue looking at times especially during cold spells.

Is this pretty typical? I hate to use meds but would Viagra, when Its cold to touch, help the blood flow and increase the warmth? Anyone try this? I know I've read using Viagra to help increase the head during sex, just wasn't clear in other post if it helps with the freezing. To me, looking slightly blue from being cold (which isn't often) can't be good.

From my experience what you report is not normal. I'd see the surgeon and follow up with him - feeling cold suggests lack of blood circulation, which is not a good thing.

shadowwolfe,

I have the same temperature situation with my glans. My wife says it feels very cold but the rest of my penis is fine. I am going to ask my urologist about using Viagra to increase glans size and sensitivity during arousal and intercourse because my glans is very small and there is almost no sensation during sex. It takes forever to get to the point of ejaculation, most of the time it never happens. This is significantly different than during my "younger years" when ejaculation happened too soon and my glans was significantly engorged during arousal. I agree that you should have this checked out by your uro. With your description, you might be pinching off almost all blood supply to your penis and glans. And as stated by others, this is not normal and you need to have this checked out...I would do it ASAP just to prevent any permanent damage to penile and glans tissue!

A number of guys have mentioned using a small amount of Viagra to increase blood flow to the glans. I will see if my uro he can give me some samples to try.

Good Luck

Bob

shadowwolfe,
The "cold to the touch" effect after an Implant is NOT uncommon ... happens to a lot of us. Viagra isn't much help ... some guys have had success with Muse.
[Example]
Men with penile implants often express concern about the appearance and feel of the glans, or tip, of the penis. When the implant is inflated for intercourse it creates excellent rigidity in the shaft of the penis, but it does not address the fullness of the glans. In certain cases, the implant cylinders when fully pumped exert pressure on the glans from the inside and can actually limit blood flow to or push blood out of the glans, preventing glans fullness during erection. As a result, men with implants describe the tip of their penis as cold, wrinkled, flat, or small.

Try using a rice sock to warm things up a bit ... a penis ring around the base helps to ...

I had been worried about my "heat sink" as my vacation approached this year. We annually take our grandchildren "tubing" on the Chattahoochie in the north Georgia mountains. We skipped this vacation last year as I was still in too much pain from my "botched" first implant.

This year I spent appx 12 hours in and out of the very cold river water. I experienced two brief instances of discomfort. I believe that my revision has largely cured my "heat sink effect".

Last year my penis would get painfully cold just sitting at a slot machine in the casino. I'd have to sit with my hand (discreetly) on my penis to keep it warm. This year no problem.

Hopefully your problem will abate with time. This was only one of many problems I had with my first implant that have been remedied by using a more skilled surgeon. Good Luck!

Use a hair dryer or hot water to warm it up before using it.
Works for me.
Implanted with colorplast Titan 3 years ago. Davinci radical prostatectomy 6 months ago. Very happy with the outcome of both procedures.
