LGX vs. CX

Postby danny1553 » Fri Jun 22, 2012 7:40 am

My uro said that if during the surgery the in-CC measurement there will be more than 21cm he'll put CX instead of LGX due to the fact those have harder cylinders and thus providing better experience. He said for "younger" guys like I this would be preferable option. However he mentioned that he'll put LGX if I insist.
That put me to think. On one side, with LGX I have a chance to regain my length; but if CX indeed has better hardiness of cylinders that could be a benefit too. I am paranoid about the length but do not really feel I should challenge doctor's recommendations.
Anybody has more details on cases when CX would be a better option over LGX?
Any thoughts?

Thank you

I all comes down to trust i guess every dr has his opinion. Who are we to disagree unless they are way out there. Ive heard good and bad on both. It comes down to what the outcome is. Good luck let us know what YOU think.

Danny, is this uro a specialist who does a lot of implants? I strongly recommend getting a second opinion if you're in a area that can accomodate such.

Thank you KMeister

With the Canadian public health care system especially with the matter like this, where the number of specialists can be counted by the the fingers of one hand; and funding is limiting the 70 surgeries per year there is not too many options for the second opition.
That's why I was hoping to get onfo who has passed through that type of choice.
On some blog I found a reference from the guy who was operated by the Dr. Eid who said Dr. Eid had the same argument favoring CX vs. LGX as more hard cylinder material that prvides stiffer erection.

Is not just Dr. Eid and your doctor opinion. I read about other doctors also that have the same opinion.
They are considering a penis longer than 18cm as a big one that needs a better support.

Anybody knows (in terms of proportion) how big is the internal part of the penis vs. the external one used to install the cylinders?
If a fully erected penis length is 17cm (bone pressed), then how big is the part that is going to be hidden in the body? I realize that each case in individual but there should be some general reference, e.g. "inside-the-body" part of the cylinder in average is 1/3 from the external length".

I think I found an aswer why CX would be preferrable over LGX:

The AMS 700 CX cylinders have better straightening properties than the Ultrex and we prefer them in men with Peyronie's disease and ED.[21] Also for men with long, narrow penises, CX cylinders provide better rigidity.

Long narrow penis, that's it. that's me.

Danny - I honestly don't know what size LGX I have. I do know I now measure almost 7" from the pubic bone and 5.5" in girth. 7" is just under 18 cm. I will also tell you I don't know how a penis could be more rigid or hard than mine. Good grief, I could pound nails with this thing! I don't remember if you are the one near Brampton, but I have been working there for the last 3 months. If you want to check it personally, let me know. That offer was made to me before my surgery and I really appreciated it, so I've extended the same offer to others. Its the only way you will get the information in a meaningful way until after you have the surgery, which is too late for the decision.

Thank you Dave.
I guess in your case the doctor was the one who made an implant choice, not you, right?
And if you doc were advising CX would you still insist on LGX?
Honestly, I feel uncomfrotable to challenge doctor recommendation so if he decides to go with CX I would have to accept it though overall LGX sound like more popular device.

Generally speking of the different models here is the brief summary of advantages of each:
- LGX - potentially can expand in length, very low invection rate
- CX - harder cilinders caousing more stiff erection, infection rate is even lower
- Titan - better than AMS mechanical realiabily statistic infection rate is slightly worse
